Just a quick one, my Beijing scams video is now up, there's a reason why I make these videos and it's not to be overly negative or try and paint Beijing (or China for that matter) in a bad light... China is a very interesting place, full of adventure, amazing food and of course opportunity to make good friends and have an overly positive experience... that is unless the rotten, immoral, cheating, bottom of the barrel scumbag scammers don't get to you first. I have personally only ever once fallen for a scam in China and it was of all places in Hong Kong (I took a private taxi from the airport which cost me about 5 times what a normal taxi would have), that was 10 years ago, I wasn't expecting that to happen in Hong Kong, but it serves me right for lowering my guard that one time (being from South Africa, I'm very vigilant against crime of all sorts and have never once in China had anything stolen or been scammed by anyone). The reason for these videos is to prevent as many people as possible from having an otherwise excellent, interesting and of course unique experience from being sullied and ruined by the bad apples that (and there are many) that float around the streets of larger cities in China. If I can help just one or two of my subscribers from being taken advantage of I'll be satisfied...

Stay Awesome!

Taxi scams in Hong Kong are unfortunately quite common especially late at night (when bars / clubs close) in LKF and Wan Chai... Taxis turn their meters off and "select" their clients based on their profiles (鬼佬 / foreigners) and how "smashed" they are... http://hongkong.coconuts.co/2014/07/22/dont-get-smashed-taxi-scam-lan-kwai-fong-wan-chai http://hongkong.coconuts.co/2015/01/08/hong-kongs-taxi-problem-coconuts-tv As always, thanks for these videos.
