I can't believe how much I love Bahn mi! The French gave an amazing gift to Vietnam... Breakfast, lunch and dinner you see local Vietnamese pulling over to the side of the road and ordering Bahn mi, which is actually just french bread with vegetables and meat inside, in other words a really good sandwich (or sub).

The Vietnamese are a lot more Western than I ever expected... Oh, did I mention that they drink coffee with their bahn mi? I could really live on this diet of cheese, beef, egg and cheese.

As we defy death riding through the chaotic streets of rural Vietnam, the one thing that keeps me focused is the fact in the morning I can have bahn mi and coffee for breakfast!

Keep a close eye on the ADVChina channel as our Vietnam adventures will be hitting the channel very soon and as always:

Vietnam is a coffee producing country, but they mostly grow the Robusta rather than the Arabica species, which requires higher elevations. Robusta is generally more bitter and often mixed with the cheap coffee sold pre-ground in cans. Vietnamese style drip coffee is made with that tin filter dripping the coffee into condensed canned milk, as you have discovered. https://youtu.be/eadHZdzeM5U
