v0.3.8 update: a new reality and course characters (Patreon)

Hello cadets!

We've started working on the next patch and thus far everything is going well. We have a fair amount of content planned for this update. The main slice of the cake is the introduction of a new job at the maid cafe, but perhaps all is not as it seems...

A mysterious benefactor

The next time you visit the cafe, Maki will let you know the owner wants to meet with you. You're given the opportunity to serve at the cafe as one of their maids, and given a chance to prove yourself to the owners.

A mysterious mod injector seats neatly on the table, and you have no idea of what it'll do to you, or even if the owner can be trusted. Are you willing to potentially give up your body for a job and a taste of true freedom?

Maid to serve

Should you trust the owner and inject yourself with the mod, you will discover a hard reality. The mod has entirely changed your appearance. You're now an anonymous person for a while, without the prestige of your family to help you jump some hoops.

In the early days of your new identity, you're limited to serving and experiencing your new freedom in quite a limited manner, the inside of the cafe. But with service and dedication comes trust, and there's no telling how your new sponsor might reward you for your loyal efforts in working for them indirectly.

An update on cruisers and  battlegroups

As we go full speed towards the next major release, version 0.4.0, we have a fair few loose ends to wrap up. With the next patch, one of the loose ends we're looking into is the absence of the cruiser and battlegroup majors unique characters.

With the next update, we will be introducing two new characters, Natalie for the cruiser fans and Erika von Swarz for the battlegroup enjoyers.

Unlike Stella, we do not plan to make them entirely exclusive to their respective major as they are both going to have a fairly significant role in the story moving forward, however your major will allow you to meet them earlier than you should and engage into a relationship should you want to. 

Final word

As 2024 is now kicking in full speed, we're also making progress on our side projects!

Our progress on Starwatch: Disavowed has been steady and we're quite satisfied with the overall direction of the game. It will be a while before we release the first version of it as we work on it when it is possible as Academy remains a priority, but we will continue to give you the occasional update about it. 

Visiting Draconis four's reformation facility is getting closer every day!
