Can't believe Gungi survived all this time!! This episode was so heartwarming, getting to see this little Jedi find his people and get introduced to his species' culture was so sweet. It's still quite shocking that a Jedi finally got a happy ending.

Hi Man

I really love this episode! Back when the younglings arc came out in the Clone Wars I always thought that a Wookie Jedi was the coolest thing ever, so when Gungi showed up here I just lost it. I definitely agree that it was nice to see a Jedi get a happy ending. Kashyyyk was always one of my favourite planets in Star Wars although we see most of it in comics and games. But this episode also expanded the lore of the planet and the Wookies a ton. It's so cool that they literally pray to trees and ride on those massive cat-like creatures with massive ears. And yes the Empire took over Kashyyyk after Order 66 and the planet would remain occupied and oppressed by the Empire for almost three decades. Kashyyyk was one of the most hardly exploited planets by the Empire. They harvest the planet for it's rich recources and use a large portion of the Wookie population as slaves much like the Zygerrians. And emlpoy many Trandoshans to help them in supressing and enslaving the local population. So all in all it's very sad but the Wookies are constantly fighting back and are basically in an unending guerrilla war against the Empire. Also there is a really nice detail in this episode. Whenever we see the Batch go on a mission and they encounter Clone Troopers, they almost always stun them because they still don't want to kill their brothers. They only kill when it is absolutely necessary. But here they just straight up use killshots on every single Trandoshan and they never bother to stun them. It really shows how much people in the galaxy despise Trandoshan slavers and here they showed them what they deserve. So that was pretty satisfying.

Those Creepy Spider things are called Kinrath and they were introduced in a old game called Knights Of The Old Republic, and yeah they were fauna/enemies you encountered on Kashyyyk when you went down into the deep dark depths of the forest in the game much like here, and playing as a Kid I really hated them they were big and creepy, fast, swarmed you, they poisoned you and I just hate arachnids in General so they were the type of thing that could give me nightmares 😂. Watching this Episode years later and seeing them again descend brought all those feelings I felt as a child back 😬😅 I have to praise the animators for capturing them so well and holy sh*t seeing them move so fast chasing down the Trandoshans and clones at the end was some next level nightmare fuel 🤣😬😬 Excited for the next 2 episodes which are probably my Favourites in the season!

I’m honestly so happy they brought one of them back as that whole arc felt so out of place near the end of the Clone Wars but now it feels like it has so much more meaning and impact with one of them living. Also super happy it was actually Gungi who lived cause I remember Huyang mentioning how special a Wookiee Jedi was and now I really want that explored. Kashyyyk is such an interesting place to me simply because it’s Chewbacca’s home planet, we never got to see it during the original trilogy and during the Clone Wars we got close with the Trandoshan stuff but it just felt weird to have such a major character’s original planet get explored so late, glad there is a bunch of other material exploring it though. Happy knowing that the Wookies become endangered or something with the Empire as at the very least with slavery they’d be set free after Luke. It’s awesome that the Wookies never stop fighting to, I think that’s the first planet I’ve seen then that is fully fledging war with the Empire, the episode with Cody came close but it was over pretty quickly, here it sounds like they just never give in. That’s such a nice detail! Very happy knowing that slavery is very disliked in the Galaxy, during the Clone Wars and the Zygerian stuff it felt like a good chunk were on board with it but love that the good guys have zero tolerance for it and actively despise it so much.

Cannot stand spiders at all, anything with that many legs has to be evil!! 😂 Very cool that these were actually from a game and brought back but yeah that chase scene was so horrifying, they were so quick and silent, and they would have been the perfect monster in a horror movie. Almost makes me feel bad for the Trandosians but this sort of fate is what they probably deserve. Having recorded the next two episodes now, they truly were amazing 🤯
