A bit of news - Patreon breaking image bind-ins (Patreon)
Content
So, it's been 2 days of this and I'll just go ahead an make a statement on the matter:
I prepared the images for the chapters in two ways. One is the imgur link in the whole
![](Link)
fashion. This is because this is the markdown CHYOA uses, so I can just do that and not have to deal with it anymore when I copy and paste it from gdocs.
The second is to bind the image directly in the gdoc. This is simple drag and drop. Up until recently, this then copied over without any issue into Patreon. I have no idea what is broken with Patreon this time, but I can confirm it is them, as the images still show up correctly on SubscribeStar.
If the issue persists, I am sorry but I must ask that you click the imgur links to view the images. The Patreon UI is frankly abyssmal. I have to click a separate button to insert an image, that then takes me to a window, that then lets me open the typical data file browser, which ten let's me select only ONE file, and then I can put that in there. Once placed, the image cannot be moved and when I want to place the next image, I first have to "clear the cache", removing the previous image, only to then go through all of the previous steps again for each image.
While this may be feasible for some chapters, where there's only 1 or 2 images, if we get to Perk selection chapters, its an actual absurd amount of work for something that should be drag and drop.
Patreons UI in general is a total clusterfuck and I prefer to engage with it as little as possible. Many of you likely already know of my hatred of the Poll UI, where most advanced options (one of which is the fairly vital toggle between single and multiple choice), behind an extra pop-out menu. They thought that was a good idea to add in the last update, for some reason that I can only attribute to being mentally handicapped - to put in the politically correct language.
I would complain to this to Patreon directly, but, for one, an attempt to do so in the past has been answered by a bot that told me that my email wasn't connected to any creator account. For two, Patreon recently banned the account of CHYOA itself and I don't feel like inviting the proverbial Eye of Sauron to take a look at me.
Anyway, before I keep ranting, the TLDR: as long as the images remain broken, you'll have to click the links. I am sorry about the inconvenience.
