“You have no idea how annoying that was,” Lee groaned. The young Fateweaver was recounting what she had done in service to the locals. “Why do I have to explain to peeps that I can’t just replace entire houses with skyscrapers! Fateweavers aren’t gods.”

“Aren’t you?” John asked, teasingly.

“No!” Lee immediately used his question to further justify her outrage. “It’s like no one knows what Uktu’s Purpose Law is!” Around the room, there were confused faces. From Scarlett, to John, over to Momo, Lee’s eyes wandered. “Seriously? No one?”

“Not everyone grew up in a Fateweaver household,” John drily reminded his youngest haremette. “Matter of fact, you’re the only one here.”

“Yeah, but… come on, Uktu’s Purpose Law is important for everyone,” Lee insisted. “Scarlett, you must have heard of it…?”

“Want me to recite the whole catalogue of discovered laws regarding mana flow behaviour in observed, closed systems?” Scarlett asked. “Like, who discovered that mana in a metal encasing will simultaneously flow and radiate within the system, decreasing the time it takes magical energy to travel between two opposite corners by up to 22,34%?”

“Who’s Makalakhan?” Hailey spoke up in her best game show voice.

“You weren’t the one being quizzed, you obnoxiously fast-learning information sponge,” Scarlett aggressively told the dirty blonde bombshell. “And I STILL haven’t figured out how you pushed that transfer rate to 31%!”

“Not my fault if ya can’t reproduce some simple cable twistin’.”

“Don’t you dare call that eldritch braid you make simple!” Scarlett slammed an agitated hand onto the surface of the water. Drops splashed all over the place. “Things I cannot comprehend should never be called fucking simple! What I hate most of all is that it works when I reconstruct it.” She kicked, sending a vengeful wave across to the unclad country gal. It was lost before it connected with Hailey’s gently bobbing breasts. “If you were breaking the rules, I could fucking let it rest, but you just have to be hypertalented in the weirdest way possible.”

“Enigmatic, ain’t it?” Hailey teased with a broad smile.  “Anyhoo, what was that about Youktoo’s Purpose Law?”

“Not Oaktoo’s, Uktu’s,” Lee corrected her.

“Look, purrdy girl, we can try and correct my particular accent or we can do the movin’s on,” Hailey drawled melodically.

“Do not dare and try to correct her heavenly tones,” John threatened. He was hanging on every word that came out of those pink lips. “Her every syllable is like the mace to the bronze bell of my soul.”

Rave squirted water into his face in an expert manoeuvre of her joined hands. “That’s what ya get for giving the creative compliments to someone besides your girlfriend,” she teased him.

“I feel like you splashing water on my lips is a hidden message for you being thirsty.”

“Nope.” Rave crossed her wet hands over her dry chest. Impatient taps of her feet on the ground echoes in the cavity. “Try again.”

They beheld each other for a little while. Challenge and teasing made room for sincere, heartfelt adoration. John’s expression softened up, until the words came out through his lips on their own, “Until the day we confessed to each other, I was just a lost young man with a recently discovered avenue for his ambitions. An awkward foal, taking quivering steps, leaving one abyss for another. Then you opened up my eyes and there was light. For that, Jane, I could never do anything but love you. What else could I ever do, light of my life?”

Rave finally jumped into the water. Swiftly, she claimed his lap and placed a deep kiss on his lips. “I love you too,” she purred.

“Can you love him in a way I can keep cuddling him?” Delicia complained. The smug maid was firmly attached to John’s side and insisted on clinging on. Relenting, Rave pulled back enough that the shortstack’s head was no longer stuck between two shoulders. “Thank you, very kind,” the alchemist hummed and snuggled up to John some more. A behaviour that had grown more frequent recently.

“Can we stop getting side-tracked?” Momo asked – the question was practically a catchphrase of hers. Seldom was there a harem discussion where either she or Metra did not have to drag the conversation back to a question that had been left behind in the back and forths of large-scale banter. “Can we finally learn what Uktu’s Purpose Law is?”

“It’s one of the two primary principles that limits the amount of matter manifestation a Fateweaver can accomplish in a space they control,” Lee responded in a mentoring tone. “According to Uktu’s Purpose Law, it gets more difficult to influence a space the more deliberation was poured into its shaping. That means that a Fateweaver can, with relative ease, displace dirt with a structure of their imagination, while a house that has been built on the mundane side is more difficult and a carefully crafted structure that was erected after the barrier has been established is borderline impossible.”

“Ahhhh,” John let out a satisfied sound. This explained a whole lot about why Fateweavers weren’t useful as war mages. “Let me guess, the second primary principle has something to do with density?”

“Density and detail of the manifested structure. Also a Fateweaver can never create a vacuum with their powers. If we get the calculation incorrect about how much air should replace any bit of dirt, it just doesn’t work.” Lee crossed her arms. “It’s serious work, you know! Seriously boring work…”

John smiled at her encouragingly. “I’m glad you’re learning it for us.”

They continued soaking in the pool for a little while, just chatting while they rubbed the dust and sweat of the trek from their bodies. Sitting in a single pool was deemed a waste by many of the haremettes and they broke off, either alone or in small groups, to explore what else the cave had to offer. Lorelei, Lee, Scarlett, and Nightingale were the only ones staying and relaxing. John and Delicia were the last two to venture off.

“Don’t think I don’t catch what you’re doing,” the shortstack called him out, a giant grin plastered over her face. “You’re soooo desperate to be alone with me today, even more than usual. You’re pulling at my heartstrings.”

“Is it working?” A rhetorical question. Delicia had grabbed onto his side of her own accord, a behaviour she hadn’t displayed two weeks back, that had gradually become just the norm. When in the harem, a woman naturally learned to do as the haremettes do.

“Ye,” Delicia responded short, quick, and to the point. A slight blush dusted her cheeks red. An overexaggerated clearing of her throat echoed off the cave walls. “Ehem! It is pleasant how much care you invest in me, John Newman, and I do acknowledge that I care more for you than I would have thought. I must have underestimated the effect of oxytocin and serotonin. An objective analysis provides that I am interested in more than just your body.”

“What’s with the science speak?” John teased her, just before they stepped into a side-arm of the cave. The meandering path they had been following slanted down into a corridor filled with gently flowing water. ‘This place is way larger than I thought,’ shot through his head, gleefully. Three generations of work was truly impressive, and with Gnome shoring up some of the structural questions, this place would be a fantastic getaway for many an Abyssal. “Let’s see where this goes,” he urged the shortstack and they walked into the water together.

The clear water reached a depth that was comfortable to swim in. A soft current pushed them along. As long as they kept relaxed, and gave it a few breast strokes, they moved on their own. “Ha-ha, floatie supremacy!” Delicia declared, just drifting along on her back.

“Your boobs are metal, how are you displacing more water than you weigh?” John wanted to know.

“Filled with all the alchemical good stuff, you wouldn’t understand, unlearned as you are,” Delicia stated smugly.

“That so? How about you try to stand here?” John came to a stop and waited, arms crossed. Delicia was almost incapable of following his example. She floated a bit too well. Holding onto a bit of the nearby wall, she attempted to get her feet on the ground. Once she managed it, she stared smugly up at him through the surface of the water. It was just high enough to submerge the shortstack in her entirety. ‘Alright, alright, you win.’

“I always win,” Delicia responded with quiet smugness after emerging again. “It is in my nature to win the greatest of all great things. Carry me, president, carry this peasant girl!”

“Yeah, yeah,” John answered softly and picked her up without a second thought. He put her on his back, the princess carry was not practical in a situation with this much water. Boobs spilled all over his shoulder blades, her chin rested on the curve of his neck. It had never been easier to carry her, the water doing most of the lifting. He just moved them along.

Crystal lights dimmed. Darkness claimed the tunnel, interrupted only by small glowing dots that illuminated the path like starlight. The path seemed simultaneously endless and short. In blessed quiet, they advanced. Delicia let out little sounds of amazement. Fresh water continued to stream down the walls.

Hidden in the dark, easy to miss for those bound to the normal senses, was a side groove. Following his intuition, John stepped into it. The floor rose gradually, until it only surrounded his hips. Four little hidden corners extended from a circular room, in the middle of which a small geyser constantly bubbled with artificial heat. Not all of the hot springs were natural, it appeared. John was fine with that.

Moving Delicia from his back to his lap, John sat down in one of the side arms. They were alone there, sitting in still, hot water, under the dim crystals. He had no eyes for the beauty of their environment. In the silence, there was only her.

Delicia began to quiver. She blinked rapidly. Her fingers dug into his shoulders and his heart sank. Before he knew what exactly was happening, she was sobbing, holding tightly onto him. “What’s wrong?” the Gamer asked softly and confused. This was the last thing he had expected from her, but he was going to listen. His hand gently stroked her hair until she gathered her voice.

“I thought… I thought love wasn’t a thing for me…” Delicia muttered, quiet and vulnerable. “All the other girls talked about it all the time. The princes that would seduce them, the fine gentlemen that would save them, all of that and I just… never got it. I was off reading books and doing… useful things. I did flaunt what Gaia gave me, because that was fun… and I thought that a sexual relationship is all I would ever get. That I didn’t care about more.”

John said nothing, let the insecurities pour out of her. Softly back and forth, he swayed, to let her know he was still there. He was still listening.

“I’m not sad,” Delicia assured him, looking up at him with that giant grin of hers. The corners of her lips caught the tears. “I thought it was useful not to get so attached, thought that it was good that I was different this way. And there you are, you stupidly handsome idiot, just breaking that down by treating me right and ploughing me into mindless stupors. Guess I’m just picky.”

“I’m glad you are picky,” John told her with a soft smile of his own. “That meant I got you all to myself.”

“Psh, to yourself, you mean all as part of your harem.” Delicia shifted on top of him. Her arms wrapped around his neck, her pussy lips parted around his glans. “Which I… do not mind… at all!” she cried, the pleasant kind, and sunk down the length of his shaft. She splashed water on her face, washing off the last of her tears. “Hope you weren’t expecting more romantics from me,” she purred and rolled her hips. “Do not even know where that came from.”

John put a hand on the side of her face and stared into her eyes, for any sign that this sudden drift into sexuality was just a coping mechanism. Assured, she stared back, leaning forwards until their foreheads touched. “You’re just a tad confusing,” he confessed with a giggle. “But no, I do not mind if this is how you want to bond. Whether you want to tease me, to have sex with me, to hug me, or to cry on my shoulder, I’m there for everything. I love you, Delicia.”

The sincere words made Delicia’s face red with sudden embarrassment. Somehow, his words had a greater effect than her confession of weakness. The alchemist had an easier time speaking than being spoken to, John reasoned. Raising her hips, she tried to up the tempo of their lovemaking. With two hands on her butt, he allowed her a single plunge, before holding her still.

“Four words, Delicia,” he insisted. “Four words, and I’m yours.”

“…I love you too, John,” Delicia confessed quietly. She took a deep breath. “There, you happy? You were right, must feel very nice to-!”

Her tirade was abruptly silenced by a kiss. A slight remnant of salt stuck to her lips. Fencing tongues and moving mouths quickly took away the last taste of tears. Magic flowed from John into the shortstack. Their bodies moved on their own. Up and down, the shortstack’s hips bounced. Her back was curved, to assure her head was steady and their kiss never ended. John’s hands dug into her overabundant ass. Each thrust up made her moan. Her tight folds clenched down on his cock.

The sensations heightened while the magic took form. Soft, deep blue light competed with the silver of the crystals. Swirls painted the form of the Lover’s Will mark above her womb. As the light ebbed away, they shared an orgasm. Seed pumped deep into her ready cunt, and she screamed into his mouth.

Heavily breathing, their lips finally separated. John glanced at the new ring around his left thumb, then returned his eyes to the smugly grinning shortstack. “Guess I own the world’s greatest man now. It is what I deserve,” she whispered.

John grunted at a playful flick on his nose. “I own the world’s most adorable alchemist. I do not deserve that at all,” he whispered back. Delicia soon resumed gyrating her hips. Feminine gasps accompanied the movement, the newfound sensitivity fuelling the ever-erotic shortstack. “Especially since she’s such a lewd tomboy.”

“I’ll use what I have.” Delicia smirked.
