Hey all, apologies for the long delay between posts!

Lockdown + the new job has pretty much shut down my building capacity at the moment and hence why I've been doing a lot of photography streams.

I got a request from Appa on how I do the frame metallics on my kits, so here's the video on me painting the FA Gundam frame.

To summarize, I spray the metallic straight onto the bare plastic. I'm using Gaianotes T-09 to around a 50/50 ratio. This thinner is apparently formulated specifically for metallic paint. I suspect it's a rapid dry to stop the flakes sinking to the bottom before the resin part dries.

The durability is pretty good despite having no primer, as long as the paint is not too thick and the plastic is smooth you will get a nice and smooth finish.

Hi Saint-ism, where do you source your Gaianotes from? Not sure why but seems to be a massive shortage of stock on all sites.

Hi Matt, you are correct, since COVID hit in late 2019 it seems that there's been a shortage of Gaianotes worldwide. I've previously ordered from Sealmodel (https://www.sealmodel.com/products.php?category_id=140) they do have some stock left but not much.
