Haremon 0.20 (Chapter 2 Update) (Patreon)
Content
It's been a while, but it's finally here! December's update contains Chapter 2 of the game's main storyline, featuring new Haremon, new villains, new environments, and much more.
Thank you all for your patience over these last few months, as I worked on Chapter 2 while also dealing with changes in my personal life. It means the world to me that you've stuck around to see this update to its completion, and I really hope you enjoy what I've put together for you.
Before we get to the downloads, a few notes:
- Spoilers: There are some very spoil-able moments in this update, so please don't post anything spoiler-related here. If you want to talk spoilers, go to the spoiler-discussion channel on our Discord. If you want to report a bug that involves spoilers, post it in the bug-reports channel with spoiler tags.
- Compatibility: This build should be fully compatible with saves from 0.15-0.19. However, I still recommend a fresh playthrough, since (1) I can't guarantee a smooth experience with older saves, and (2) the early game has had some improvements made to it, including new backdrops and dungeon layouts. Additionally, some dialogue has been altered to make the new chapter's story more consistent. Nothing major, but a few plot points will make a bit more sense if you play through the early game again. If you import an old save, you can begin the new questline by going to sleep in your apartment and then checking your phone.
Without further ado, let's get to the downloads!
C-cup patrons can download the standard edition here.
E-cup patrons can download the debug edition with full developer console access here.
[Edit 2/14/2020] Non-patrons can now download this update from itch.
Thank you all so much for your support, and I hope you enjoy Chapter 2! Read on for a full changelog. (If you're coming from the previous public version [0.17], you may want to check out the changelogs for 0.18 and 0.19 as well.)
CHANGELOG (0.20):
(Potential minor spoilers)
Major content additions:
- Added the Chapter 2 storyline, consisting of two quests.
- Added a total of 45 new scenes.
- Added a new Haremon: the Cerberus, Ash.
- Added another new Haremon.
- Added a new H scene, which you'll unlock at the end of Chapter 2.
- Added a new story CG, which you'll unlock at a certain point in Chapter 2.
- Added a new selfie CG, for the Cerberus
- Added 3 brand-new monsters, and 2 new monster variants.
- Added a new boss fight, which is by far the coolest, longest, and most difficult fight in the game so far.
- Added a new NPC, who you'll encounter a few times over the course of Chapter 2.
- Added 2 new dungeons, including 13 brand-new dungeon events.
- Added over 80 new items, including 3 new Gift categories, 7 new battle items, a new Treasure category, and more.
- Added 27 new techniques; some are learned by the new Haremon, some are added to existing Haremon, some can be learned through manipulation, and some can only be used by enemies.
- Added 7 new music tracks.
- Replaced the backdrops for the first three dungeons with brand-new art that captures the feel of each area much better than the old art did.
- Areas that must be revisited multiple times now have unique layouts for (almost) every story-related visit; for example, returning to the Forest to find the Masturblade will have a different dungeon layout than your initial visit to tame the witch.
- Sunny will now return after the end of Chapter 1. After activating a certain event in Chapter 2, she will start roaming various environments; if you encounter her, you can buy hints from her about the treasures, events, and monsters in the current area.
Minor additions & changes:
- Multiplied each attack's base damage attribute by approximately 4x, and divided the final damage calculation for all attacks by 4. This might sound pointless, but it offers some benefits, such as more varied base damage numbers.
- Adjusted the relative base power and upgrade effects of most attacks.
- Added the ability to scroll the dungeon display horizontally by using the right analog stick, J/L on the keyboard, or Shift+mouse wheel. This currently only applies to one of the new dungeons, because it's the only one large enough to require it. Additionally, clicking the right stick will now recenter the view, like it does in battle.
- Changed a bunch of crafting recipes to give certain materials more uses, and certain items fewer uses.
- Gave certain characters a few more expressions
- Changed the animation for Crippling Strike and Iaijutsu
- Changed Mr Leaky's kink to "Protection", which adds resistance to most status conditions.
- Burning Passion no longer upgrades to Heat Things Up.
- The load/save menus will now display the name of the location where each file was saved
- Changed the calculations that affect which technique an enemy will use on its turn.
- Changed the name of the player's hometown to Longwood because the old name was dumb and blatant
- Altered a certain scene during the Lady in Black quest to make it consistent with new lore.
- The dialogue backlog now adds a scene title when starting a new scene, so different scenes don't run together.
- Changed the navigation menu to display the necessary party members for completing the active quest in a given dungeon.
- Added a skip-block feature. Lines that are important and likely to be skipped are now unskippable.
- The "horde" event now allows you to use a Repellent or Pesticide to escape from the monsters. Also, the Allure and Speed-based methods now use a chance wheel, with the chance of success based on the stat.
- Reduced the amount of Rage lost when you deal damage.
- You can no longer travel across flipped tiles that are occupied by monsters.
- Reduced the number of times you have to traverse the Shimmering Caverns during the Impish Antics quest.
- Changed the way girls giving you gifts works, to ensure that you will always be able to get all of their possible gifts at least once, instead of getting the same low-level gifts over and over.
- Vex's H scene is now implemented into the story, meaning you'll activate it as the story progresses (even if you've already unlocked it)
- Various other minor improvements and changes
