Final Fantasy XIII Battle Theme [METAL VERSION] (Blinded by Light) (Patreon)

Hey everyone! Here is the full video for my metal cover of BLINDED BY LIGHT from Final Fantasy XIII!

It feels great to finally be taking on another epic Final Fantasy battle theme! It's been a minute since we've shredded up something from FF and particularly a battle theme from this series!

This theme really stood out to me as it's a theme that's composed by a newcomer to the series that's not Nobuo Uematsu. I think you can really hear that on this theme! To me it has a bit more of a darker and more melodic vibe to it that really resonated with me when I first heard it! I felt like it would be a perfect candidate for a slamming metal cover!

What was a blast about making this arrangement was that I actually had to tune my guitar even MORE down to a whopping drop B tuning. That low note being the Low b really chugs hard and it was definitely something unique for me to get that low. We've done it a few times before but it's certainly a rare treat to chug on those low notes!

Melodically this theme is absolutely amazing as well. I made sure to incorporate the orchestral elements to this piece as there is a LOT of layers going on here on the original. The main melodies across this piece were a blast to translate to guitar and it really let me bring out some stylistic elements to my playing instead of just shredding all over the place all the time. I love being able to switch it up within an arrangement like that!
