Halo 3: ODST Theme [METAL VERSION] (We're The Desperate Measures) (Patreon)

Hey everyone! Here is the FULL VIDEO for my metal cover of Halo 3' ODSTs "WE'RE THE DESPERATE MEASURES"!

This turned out SO friggen awesome. I was definitely a little nervous about this one because there's a lot of stuff about this theme that took me out of my comfort zone when I was arranging. The main thing about it is that it's not super based around guitar work but moreso an overall CRUSHING arrangement. I always put a ton of love into making sure I have a good arrangement but for this theme it's basically the MOST important thing you can do and I made sure I nailed it before anything else!

Mixing wise it was also such a blast to bring in a huge orchestra section alongside the metal guitars. Those cellos and brass instruments HAD to come along for this metal arrangement from the original as they're just so iconic for this theme. I spent a lot of time trying to get them to be super present and in-you-face in the mix and it gave it such a cool sound that I'm super happy with!

And then of course the guitar parts were insanely fun as well. But they were super chill and straight forward which was actually a nice turn-around. Usually arrangements are the easier things to do and I'm shredding guitar solos all over the place. But this one really is all about the restraint and letting the arrangement be huge sounding. So the guitars were just a chill time that was very fun to record!

Overall I had such a blast on this and I still can't believe how happy I am with it. I hope you enjoy it as well! Let me know what you think! :D
