Final Fantasy VIII "Maybe I'm a Lion" [METAL COVER] (Patreon)

Hey everyone! Here is the FULL VIDEO for my metal cover of the absolutely epic "Maybe I'm a Lion" theme from Final Fantasy VIII requested by esyphelon.

This whole arrangement turned out so amazing! I knew when I first saw this up on the request sheet that I was going to have an absolute blast with it. It's also hilarious that this theme is clearly a sort of love letter to the band Deep Purple (who has a song called "Maybe I'm a Leo" and features rock organs frequently) and that's a band that I absolutely love as far as classic rock goes. So this was a perfect choice for me to come in and slay!

I wanted to make the first section of the theme absolutely crushingly heavy. The drums on this part turned out super awesome and I think switching over to reaper for recording helped me with that. The workflow on MIDI programming feels really smooth and I feel like the last few covers I've put out using reaper have given me an improvement on my drums just cause of the workflow!

Then the riffs come in full force half way into the song and that's when I really got to blow the cobwebs off of my picking hand and get back to some insane riffage that's very characteristic for Final Fantasy boss themes. I knew what I was getting into and I was ready for it!

Overall I'm so happy with how this turned out and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it!
