Hey everyone! Here are the tabs, backing track, and MIDI file for my metal cover of DRAGON VALLEY from Freedom planet!

Rhythms:

Style - Heavy chugs, traditional metal riffage

Difficulty - 3/5

Our rhythms here have some pretty straight forward and SUPER fun riffs. There is a tad bit of challenge due to the upper-mid-pace speed of the song but if you take these riffs slow starting out, you'll get them!

We begin with a big down picking open chord riff that is sure to get your picking hand going. It alternates between a straight up power chord but then the second chord introduces a 7th into it giving it a cool pentatonic vibe.

We then go into one of the hardest riffs of the song but one of the most fun. Just straight up alternate picking on the low note and some really fun picking.

Now we have our verse riff which is super straight up picking but some pretty spicy chords. We have some weird up-picking here as well for some off-beat stabs and it makes it super driving and fun. Take this one slow though as the chords are pretty tricky at full speed!

Now we have our pre-chorus which brings in the speed picking with the alternate picking and palm muting. The chords are super chill now though this time around.

Leads:

Style - unique melodies, legato

Difficulty - 2/5

Our leads here are slightly more laid back then our immense riffage we have going on in this arrangement. The leads here are super fun however!

We begin with some fast picking very rhythm-like and then go into the main riff.

We have our first verse now where the melody is SUPER fun and very straight forward. Would highly recommend learning this!

Now we have our pre-chorus which is another even-easier melody that is very catchy. However, in between these melodic lines, are moments of pure insane shred that I put in just to add my own style in. These, of course, are very challenging (but super fun!)

That's about it! This theme is super straight-forward and a blast to play. If you have any questions, feel free to message me on here or Discord.

Rock on!

~ Jack
