Hey everyone! Here are the tabs, backing track, and MIDI for my metal cover of Final Fantasy VII's JENOVA theme!

Rhythms:

Style - heavy palm muting, big ringing chords

Difficulty - 3/5

Our rhythms here, for the most part, are super straight forward and fun! We do have a few complicated riffs in here though to spice it up.

We start off with one of the harder rhythm parts. Bringing in that technical palm muting section on the left side rhythm guitar. Take this part slow and make sure to focus on the palm muting.

We now have our verse which is super straight forward. This is all heavy palm muting. The tail end of this riff plays the intro rhythm part an octave lower which is the most challenging part of this relatively easy riff.

We now have our pre-chorus which features some big open chords. Ring all of these out and focus on the picking here.

And finally we have our chorus, which chugs away on the 5th fret. Super straight forward and heavy here!

Leads:

Style - arpeggios, ringing melodies

Difficulty - 4/5

Our leads here are definitely on the harder side. Mainly due to the motif of the theme being that crazy arpeggio that switches around depending on the part of the theme.

We start with that intro arpeggio. It's very tough and should be taken slowly!

Now we have our verse riff where we play the ringing melody on top of the motif arpeggio playing an octave lower now. The main melody is super easy and fun!

Now we have our pre-chorus where we play octaves and slide the shape up and down the fret board.

Then finally we have our chorus which is another fun and easy melody. Really the only difficult parts here are the underlying arpeggios that happen throughout the song.

That's it! Hope you enjoy and have fun learning these riffs and licks. Let me know if you have any questions!

~ Jack
