Hey everyone! Here are the tabs, backing track, and MIDI for my metal cover of The Legend of Dragoon's "Boss Battle 1" theme!

Rhythms:

Style - 80's metal riffage, percussive djenty riffs

Difficulty - 4/5

Our rhythms here can have some challenging parts but also some great parts for newer players as well. Our first riff starts with some quick palm mute bursts trading off between the left and right rhythm guitar. We then go into our main riff.

The main riff is tricky as that second chord requires a jump off of the 2nd fret pedal note. So take this part slowly and get the muscle memory down!

For our verse, we have a djenty style riff but it's a ton of fun. Make sure you're getting the palm mutes down perfectly before you speed it up.

Then finally we have our chorus which takes a break and lets us play some big open chords to make it sound super epic!

Leads:

Style - palm muting rhythm support, octaves

Difficulty - 2/5

Our leads here play a support roll to the immense riffage on this arrangement. We start off with some percussive backing to the rhythms on the Main Riff cont. section. And then we move into the verse.

The verse features some center lead octave playing that jumps up and around the fretboard. Our harmonies come back in on the 2nd half too playing the same riff as the main riff only a whole step up now.

For our chorus, we're doubling octaves on a really fun and epic melody. This is one of the easiest leads on the song for sure!

Then finally for our solo, we bust out into some legato playing and then double down on it going into full on finger tapping.

The second half of the solo gets even harder where we do this crazy alternate picking lick and then resolve it with some 5-string sweep + taps.

That's about it! If you have any questions, feel free to message me on here or discord.

Rock on!

~ Jack
