Hey everyone! Here are the tabs, backing track, and MIDI for my metal cover of Gundam Wing's "The Wings of a Boy that Killed Adolescence"

Rhythms:

Style - triplet feel groove

Difficulty - 2/5

Our rhythms here are a ton of fun and not super challenging. The trick here is that the whole song is in triplet feel so getting that triplet timing right is key to every part. We start off with some galloping-style triplet riffage with power chords and then enter our pre-chorus with the same thing in mind only in the key of C now and a bit more brutal.

The next verse, we do some pauses as our center lead takes the spotlight.

Now for our chorus, we bust out some super stretchy open chords that will be very challenging if your hands can't stretch out super far. If that second measure shape is too stretchy then you can elect to do it with open C and G strings instead. Send me a message if you need more clarification on this.

Now our next section is where it gets pretty technical and wonky. We do some chromatic rising here with some tight palm muting. Definitely the hardest part of the song.

The bridge riff here is hard as well, we ring out some 9th chords and get very tight with our picking here.

We then end the arrangement with some fat open chords!

Leads:

Style - fun triplet melodies, chromatic melodies, pedal leads

Difficulty - 3/5

Our leads here are a tad more challenging but it's nothing terribly insane. The song starts out with a blistering fast triplet riff and then we go into our verse.

The verse melody is super fun and relatively chill to play. Great for newer players!

We then have our chorus riff with a wonky chromatic melody but it's similar to the verse being not super hard. It's super sick sounding too!

Now for our next verse, we're putting a capo on the 2nd fret and pedaling on that 2nd fret with our melody here.

Now our chorus melody is definitely the most fun melody I think, it's super straight forward and a ton of fun in that 3/4 timing.

We then do some octaves for our bridge riff and it sounds awesome I think. Super melodic here.

Our last climax section we do a super technical but very fun rising up melody in the key of E.

Now for the solo, we start off with some bluesy C minor licks and then do a super slidey and legato diminished run and end it with a chromatic down-falling riff.

That's about it! If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message on here or discord.

Happy jamming and hope you enjoy!

~ Jack
