Hey guys! Here are the tabs, backing track, and MIDI file for my metal cover of Twilight Princess' "Hyrule Field" theme!

This arrangement has some very straight forward rhythm riffage and for the leads it has a really wide spectrum of simple catchy melody all the way up to sweeping madness. Let's jump into it!

Rhythms:

Style - chuggy, power chords, picking

Difficulty - 2/5

Our rhythms here are utilizing mainly power chords with intricate chuggy picking patterns. Basically like every 80's Metallica song haha.

Our main riff is the meat of the arrangement. Palm muting that 4 until our picking hand falls off. It's simple but it can be tricky to get it suuuuuuuuper tight. If you're a newer player, make sure you're muting the strings you aren't intending to play and also muting the space between the palm mutes.

Our pre-chorus is where we open it up into some big open 9th chords. These type of chords are so fun to play because they're very melodically neutral and instead just flourish the soundscape and make it super huge sounding.

We have a breakdown verse next that's some more heavy chugs. Open up this mosh pit bois!

These riffs are amazing practice for your right hand and will get you super tight in your rhythm playing!

Leads:

Style - slides, melody, sweeping

Difficulty - 3/5

Our leads cover a lot of ground on the difficulty spectrum so let's break it down section by section!

Before we enter our main melody on the verse, we do a really quick little shred lick here that utilizes the E minor scale going up the neck. Make sure you're doing pull offs here to minimize picking as much as you can!

Our main melody is very straight forward and fun, you can really get some expression and feel here with some slides and heavy vibrato usage!

We have some more main melodies throughout this section that's all about the feel and heavy use of vibrato. Get the feels in!!!

Our breakdown verse is really fun in particular because we're muting all of the notes and it's on the lower register of the guitar which is kind of unique for a melody. You can really do some sonic damage here with some well placed pinch harmonics!

Our chorus center lead relies a lot on ringing notes into each other giving a dissonance feel. Make sure not to overlook that as it makes it sound wayyyyyyy sicker! The same thing applies to our "evil part" melody following shortly after

Overall these are a ton of fun melodies coming one after the other. Give them a shot and take it slow if you're a newer player! These will get your fretting hand vibrato and legato game totally dialed!

Let me know if you have any questions and hope you enjoy!!
