This After Show includes my experiences with Batman and Batman Returns coming out while I was a kid, a discussion on Tim Burton, and a trivia game where we see if I can guess how much some of this bat-merch would cost today. Enjoy!

Thanks so much for your continued support!

That wig is like, Jared Leto as the Joker, but with circa 2008 Jared Leto hair. (Had to look up the date on that… and that’s time I will never get back). Watched Cronenberg’s “The Fly” a few months back and had a similar discussion about how CGI always looks fake and its inability to evoke any real emotion compared to “analog” effects (is that what you’d call them??). WHY did CGI win out? Is it strictly a cost thing? How could a bunch of people working on state-of-the-art computers cost less than some friggin puppets?? THERE’S an upcoming video topic. A whistleblowing EXPOSÉ. Who’s behind this nonsense?? Consequently, puppetry and special effects are a dying art form now. When I was a kid, we talked about special effects, how they were done, and who did them. Oh well. Man, that Fly is nauseatingly AWESOME. Anyway, thanks, guys.

Haha, totally! That was the cheapest green wig and it was hilariously silly. I agree about CGI. It seems to be the most convenient, but it's lacking that craftsmanship that practical effects have. CGI works really well in some cases, but sometimes it feels like productions are cutting corners. Of course, I realize that I grew up with practical effects and someone who grew up in the age of CGI may find it believable and find practical effects antiquated. I can't imagine The Fly with CGI evoking as much disgust and body horror.
