Hi Everybody! Here is your early access for Part One of a Two-Parter on the cinematography of There Will Be Blood. One of the most interesting things I came across during the research was the info on how Paul Thomas Anderson incorporates the personality of the film alchemy into the style of his movies. I’ve always kind of felt that movies made before the 2000s somehow look more interesting. Filmmakers have utilized the control of a digital intermediate to make some incredibly stunning images, but there is certainly something to be said for movies that allow the chemicals to have a say in the style.

Thanks so much for your continued support!

Wow what a brilliant filming techniques and such a degree of perfection "quest", Kubrick would have been jealous. I had to chance to watch this movie in a nice cinema for the time and I understand now thanks to you why I was literally stunned by the photo, like observing some paintings. Thank you very much looking forward to the next part. And the use of chemicals is so ironic in such an "oil" saturated movie. To be honest I still prefer a tiny touch of CGI like here than not using them at all and missing something like in Dunkirk, my humble opinion on the subject a least. Take care!
