Hi everybody! Apologies for my silence lately— I’m back from California and I am now a married dude! Thanks so much for your patience. Here is a new video on Fritz Lang’s suspenseful escape from Nazi Germany. I’ve been wanting to do something on this story for a while because it is just so fascinating (and there are plenty of bizarre holes and inconsistencies that you’ll see in Part 2).

I really want to express my gratitude to you. Without your support on Patreon, I couldn’t afford to make videos like this, which are not monetizable on YouTube. You mention ‘Nazi’ once and you can’t make money off of your video. I learned that the hard way with the video on Bridge on the River Kwai, which has not been monetized for a looooooong time. Anyway, thank you very much!

It’s kind of funny— the video I did on Kubrick’s style was done in extreme cold and this video (the TCM character) was done in extreme heat. I was wearing a bunch of layers, it was super hot outside, there were several hot lights, and the location didn’t have any air conditioning. You can probably tell that I’m melting by the end of the video, hehe. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video!

Thanks so much for your continued support!

How Fritz Lang Trolled the Nazis

However, instead of the slap on the wrist he was expecting, he was offered the position at the head of the German film industry. Lang knew he had to escape Germany, but how did he do it?
