which show to watch next (Patreon)

hi friends! another poll coming at you!

as we can tell, we are nearing the end of daredevil season 2!

i know i need to finish jessica jones season 1, watch the defenders before season 2 so while we wait for jessica jones to finish i thought i'd add in another show in the place of daredevil for now!

i want to stray from marvel for this show just to keep some variety for my own enjoyment and honestly i think it can be hard to get all the stories straight for me!

so the two options i have are firefly or the boys.

this show would start next week so the earlier you vote the better!

Knowing your tolerance for lots of blood and gore, (even though I haven’t seen it) I’d advise against watching The Boys, as it is very very graphic. Firefly is a much shorter series (haven’t watched it either), and from what I understand, its like a space western, so it’s more closely related to The Mandalorian. What I’d personally recommend (mentioned under your Daredevil S2E11 timer reaction), is watching Luke Cage, and the Punisher next. I’d also include Iron Fist, as both Luke Cage & Iron Fist are pivotal to seeing, before The Defenders. You don’t need to watch The Punisher before the Defenders, but if you like Frank Castles character, and want to understand that corner of the marvel universe a little better, then I’d recommend watching that as well.

This poll can't lose, but let me say this. Both are really well-written shows, but Firefly is more light adventure and humor. The Boys is dark, even the humor. And while Firefly has good actors, the performances in The Boys are fantastic. Also, while Firefly generally elicits great reactions because it's fun and appeals to just about everyone, even those who don't like sci-fi or Westerns, The Boys gets great reactions because it's shocking and has surprising twists (usually in a good way that fits the story, which already takes it a notch above the average show). You really can't go wrong here, but I feel like The Boys might be a little much for your taste, though I'd love to see your reactions.

The social commentary of the Boys is amazing, and I think you’ve seen enough superhero content to pick up on its clever play on superhero cliches. It can be violent but it’s a REALLY good story- and hilarious. I can’t wait to see your reactions!

While you dont have to know the characters theres a lot of parody of DC in the boys. it seems clear thats the winner though. Firefly would be a quicker watch. I imagine adding DC movies to the mix of your current roadmap would push the boys out kinda far. and IMO the DC movies arent as good as marvel anyways.

While I like The Boys, I don't think it's a very good fit for you. It's insanely graphic, violent and dark. Firefly is much more light-hearted and fun, plus it's only 13 episodes and a movie.

I was going to say it might be a bit intense based off her reaction to this show and how her channel was pretty PG before starting This series. Though I believe she has mentioned watching game of thrones so just because she hasn't posted much this graphic on her channel doesnt mean its something she wouldnt enjoy. If shes planning to do both perhaps doing the first episode of each to test the waters would be more appropriate. I guess we will found out. But if were going to get into stuff like The Boys... Then Dexter as one of the next longer running shows? lol

Yeah i’ve watched some brutal shows before so we will see how it goes! I probably can at least commit 100% to the first season. I have already watched Dexter too!!! Great show

I think 'The Boys' will win this poll. But I will not watch the series or Emme's reactions I am affraid. That would be a first for me on Emme's Patreon and/or YouTube channel.
