here is my edited reaction to the acolyte season 1 episode 5 "night"

i was shocked at the length of this episode, but it's still exciting since we got to learn who mae's master is!!! very confused about mae/osha/sol, so looking forward to the next episode!

First of all, I am glad they proceed where they left off last week, and did not insert another flashback episode first. Still in shock that both Jecki and Yord died (obviously did not have any plot armor). I expected some of the Jedi in this outfit to die but not all but Sol, including these lead characters. Also for me it wasn’t a big reveal or surprise that Qimir was the Master, last weeks conversations with Mae made this very obvious imo. When I saw this this the first time, I was surprised why Yord picked up the helmet of Qimir, but now I think that this helmet (and maybe his light saber hilt) is made of the rare metal Cortosis (known from/in the Extended Universe). When a lightsaber hits something made by this metal it deactivates and this seems to be the case in this episode in the earlier fights with Qimir.
