This is a personal favourite of mine; when I first saw it (over a decade ago now) I was in awe of how everything came together, and to this day I still think it's just a brilliantly crafted episode. Loved watching your reaction! Jack's really great, but watching these back through your eyes, I can see now how he may come off as a bit of a jerk or untrustworthy. Though I think that if you come back to this two-parter in the future, you might feel differently. Can't wait to see more. These uploads are always my favourite part of the week! <3

As I said on The Empty Child, this is a top story for me. It’s so moving and the resounding joy the doctor feels at getting to save everyone makes me well up. It reveals a vulnerable side to him, no matter how much he pretends like the episode deaths don’t get to him. The writer of this episode is Steven Moffat- he becomes the showrunner for seasons 5-10. One of his strengths imo is humor and I think that aspect of his style comes out throughout that era, just like in this story. He writes many of the most beloved episodes of seasons 1-4. I’ll point them out as we hit them. This story makes me laugh, cry, shiver in fear, and makes my heart melt. You can’t really ask for more.
