I was able to match up my copy with the blurred picture, but there were a few times that it came out of sync with the scenes and the timer. You would comment on something sweet Jamie said, but he hadn’t said anything. I’d sync it up again but after a little while you again commented on something that hadn’t been said yet. Luckily, I was able to watch the whole thing. In the book, Jamie does kill an actual bear, but logistically, they couldn’t get a bear for the show and I guess they couldn’t do special effects, so they had to figure out a different way for Jamie to earn his Bear Killer name. On Starz, the show runners will talk about the episode. I absolutely adore Ian. I can’t remember if I mentioned this in another comment, but Ian was the baby who was born when Fergus shot the crow and Jamie almost got caught by the Redcoats holding him. That was the episode where he surrendered and went to prison. I love that the show wants to be authentic. They had real indigenous people from Canada fly out to Scotland to film the show rather than just find some actors who looked like they could be Native Americans and dressed them up. Season 4 is a roller coaster and I can’t wait to watch the rest of the season with you! 🙂

I like at the start when Jamie is signing the document for his land and the guy asks Jamie if Claire would like to stay at Wilmington until they establish their new home. Jamie tells him that Claire intends to accompany him to help build Fraser's Ridge. He says to Jamie "May god grant you the fortitude to overcome the hardships you will undoubtedly face in the backcountry." Jamie then says "I assure you, sir, she has a great deal of fortitude. She's a healer. She's seen war and plague. Couldn't do it without her." Later they are getting ready to leave, Claire is worried about leaving Marsali, Jamie says "You have that faraway look in your eye, sassenach." She talks about Brianna, of how she won't be there for her, for the kids Brianna might have one day. Jamie says "When I... When I was without you, I held onto thoughts of your face, your words, your heart. I clung to those memories when I didn't want to stand and I was thankful for them when I could. Our daughter will do the same." I love that place they've chose to call home, I love the scene of them working the land, when Jamie and Claire were using the horse to help move that tree stump I started to think of Einar and Thorfinn and then you said that the scene reminds you of Vinland Saga. I love that episode when they meet Mr. Sverkel for the first time. He tells them "I don't care about your status. This is a contract. I will lend you a horse and in exchange you will do my chores both when you borrow it and when you bring it back." I love your title of that episode "To Take Out Old Roots, We Need a Helping Hand." I love the part when they are planing the layout of their cabin, Jamie tells her he will build her a wee shed. I liked that scene with Claire and Ian when they are talking about knitting and Ian tells Claire of how Jamie knitted him a fine pair of stockings for his baptism. I can picture Jamie and Claire years from now in that log cabin, Claire is sitting in front of the fire in a rocking chair rocking back and forth holding their baby while Jamie knits a wee onesie. I wasn't sure how things would play out with the Cherokee, after the bear attacks we learn of something called a Tskili yona. "Yona" the Cherokee's word for "Bear" and 'Tskili" meaning "Wickedness" or "Evil" We then find out that the Tskili yona is a man, not a monster. He was like one, the way he attacked Jamie, it was like that dance, the movements, the way he clawed at him. Jamie says "He's only a man not a monster." He is then told "Oftentimes, man is monster." We learn that the Tskili yona once lived with the Cherokee and was once a great warrior, but then one year ago he harmed his woman, he laid with her against her wishes and that is not the Cherokee way, so he was banished to live alone in the woods. They said that he would return again and again but the Cherokee would not see him, they said they could not kill what was already dead to them, so he went deeper into the woods and his mind was lost forever, he took the form of a bear, he became Tskili. After killing the Tskili yona Jamie meets with the Cherokee's chief, Nawohali and they make a pact that no more blood will be spilled. They then call Jamie "Yona dihi" Bear Killer, they said "That is how you will be known to our people." It's gonna be great having them all live together, this season is gonna be really beautiful. When Roger called Brianna I was shocked that she was happy to hear from him, she said she had been thinking about him. I'm glad he told her about Claire and Jamie, that they found each other. We then learn that there will be a fire and that Jamie and Claire will not survive. Roger then calls Brianna, I think he was going to tell her about the fire, her roommate tells him that Brianna went to visit her mother a couple of weeks ago. If she has gone through the stones then Roger has to warn her, I just hope he doesn't try to use this to somehow get back with Brianna, he doesn't deserve her, not after what he said to her, she deserves so much more. I love at the end when they have the base of the cabin built and Jamie picks up Claire and holds her in his arms, she asks "What are you doing?" He says "Carrying my wife over the threshold. And this'll be the door, lined with hides to keep out the cold. And over here, we'll have a wee pantry and a hearth, where I'll perform a hearth blessing." He tells her "We'll build shelves for our books, have candles, so we can read at night. We can put a fine table in the middle for our dinners. And over there will be our bed. Facing east so we can watch every sunrise." She smiles and tells him it's perfect. This was a beautiful episode, I have to say you looked really beautiful Imon, something about your hair seemed different somehow, maybe it's just me. You're just always more beautiful than I remember. You really are beautiful, always. <3
