Man I'm with you on Diane. Although I think it was a very human thing she did. She has her whole identity wrapped up in this idealistic, altruistic vision of herself. I think at the start she was so embarrassed she gave up and came home, she couldn't face it, and that hole just kept getting deeper and deeper. I don't know if we have all been there to some extent, at that point where what started as a little lie has turned into a monstrous life ruling thing, but I know I sure have.

Its hard to really relate to characters in this show if you havent also suffered from some of their mental illnesses or the crises theyve faced in their lives

Great reaction and discussion at the end. Both Bojack and Diane have depressive personalities but they are acting horribly. To me the big difference between them is that Bojack is thinks pretty low of himself when depressed while Diane seems to rather lie and avoid those feelings. Wanda deserved better.

What Diane is doing here is absolutely wrong, but I do think her decisions are interesting. I think she'd absolutely agree with you that what she's doing is 100% wrong. She's just in a place where she's so depressed and full of self-loathing that she can't bring herself to face her life. She's in a really deep depression here.
