Japan start their World Cup qualifying campaign on Wednesday! They face Myanmar on Wednesday night, in what should be very one sided affiar

Predicted Lineups

Japan

• Strong line up likely. First game of this cycle, many spots up for grabs.
• Suzuki said he wants to become youngest keeper to start for Japan in qualifier. Osako is my slight fav (I have seen 2 predicted lineups in Japanese press. One had Osako, the other Suzuki!)
• Tomiyasu spoke about wanting to lead. Should start despite being slight injury concern. Nakayama fit and natural LB. Ito another option.
• Morita went off with an injury for Sporting, unclear his condition. Endo and Tanaka pref CMs
• Mitoma keen to start after missing last Japan games. Soma joined training earlies and eager to play.
• AM likely either Kamada/Kubo. Kubo in much better form but Kamada is a trusted player with this manager.
• Minamino in form, wants to start. Ito is the main RW.
• Stiker Asano is the trusted striker with this manager. Some talk in Japanese press of Ueda starting.

Prediction

Last time Japan played Myanmar they won 10-0 and a similar score is likely. Manager also likely to use his bench early especially if/when Japan are well ahead early.
