Content
Intro
We have a full schedule of J1 League games this weekend! After the midweek league cup games, we only have 1 game on Saturday with the reaming 8 games on Sunday.
Due to this, we will only get some press conference and training info today with others happening after the deadline tomorrow.
The full schedule including the games on Youtube International can be found below:
Predicted Lineups
These can also be found on Playsharper website here
The injury tracker can be found here
Important to note the %s used here and where they are not above 75% it is because I feel there is some risk involved. My main aim with these is to show where risk/potential DNPs are lurking.
I base these %s on info I read from various sources including comments from the manager and reading a lot of local Japanese news coverage/message boards.
These are my own opinion of the situation at each team. I try to be as neutral as possible but we all have biases :) So always do your own research when making picks!
Yokohama FM vs Yokohama FC
Notes
- Lopez or Nishimura reported to have been ill and missed the cup game. Will look for training pics today but at the moment they are risks
- Tsunoda played some mins in the cup game and I have him fav over Eduardo to start here
- Matsubura is recovering from injury, at the moment uncertain to start and I have
Notes
- Brodersen returned in goal and should start here. He has been number 1 for YFC prior to his injury
- YFC are in bad form and let slip a lead in the cup to lose in the final minutes. Talk the managers position is at risk. Reports suggest he may well make changes including a formation change
Odds
Prediction
This is a local derby and that can produce surprise results. YFM havent been fully firing in recent weeks but at home will likely have too much attacking power for a fragile YFC defence
YFM 3 - 1 YFC
Cerezo Osaka vs Sapporo
Notes
- Cerezo likely to play the same or very similar lineup that impressed in last weeks 2-1 victory against the champions
- They rested a number of key players in the midweek cup defeat. Harakawa played but I have Suzuki ahead of him to play this game
Notes
- Kobayashii is injured for this game
- Sugeno seen in training though no info on his condition. I have him out for this game too
- Fernandes not seen in recent training pics either
- Without Kobayashii could see a change in formation and a true striker upfront with Ogashiwa and Aoki most likely supporting
Odds
Prediction
Sapporo impressed me last week with their attacking and flowing football. They however had a horror show at the back. I see this game being an entertaining and open game & with home advantage, Cerezo having winning.
Cerezo 2 - Sapporo 1
Kobe vs Niigata
Notes
- Samper and Iniesta have got some mins under their belt. I still dont see them starting this game
- I expect Kobe to lineup as they did the last game. Sasaki is challenging for a spot and though Thuler is back in training, I see him being on the bench as Kobe are doing well in the league and no need to change imo
Notes
- Kojima was missing last week and in the cup game. Abe could start again
- Deng was also missing and i havent seen him in training pics so be careful if using
- Michael Fitzgerald is suspended for this game. Chiba also not seen in training yet so a squad CB could be brought in
Odds
Prediction
Niigata have impressed me with their stylish brand of football. I think they can cause Kobe issues here and see the game being a score draw.
Kobe 1-1 Niigata
Hiroshima vs Sagan Tosu
- No known new injuries for the team
- I see this being the more likely formation for this game. Hiroshima have been mixing things up more this season and changing tactics/formations for most games. I prefer Mitusda in a shadow forward position so this is also possible
- Another possibility is Douglas Viera coming after scoring twice in the last game
Notes
- Togashi is out for this game with a confirmed injury
- Iwasaki and Harada have not been seen in training yet so are doubts for this game. Nakano and Fujita also injury concerns according the message board.
Odds
Prediction
Sagan Tosu have a number of injury problems and we could see some relatively unknown players start. Its hard to predict what type of team will come out & historically the team can blow hot and cold. Though Hiroshima also havent fully got going this season, I see this as a comforable win with a decent chance of a CS
Hiroshima 2- 0 Sagan Tosu
FC Tokyo vs Shonan
Notes
- Trevisan for me is ahead of Morishige. It is still an uncertain which way it goes
- Matsuki returned midweek and is ready to play here alongside Koizumi
- The 3rd midfield spot is harder to call. Higashi has been in training but didnt feature midweek. Aoki is second fav for this spot
Notes
- Hata, Ikeda and Ohashi was all injured. Yashima cant play due to contractual reasons
- SBK was seen in training before the cup game but wasnt in the squad. I am hoping to spot him in training pics today hence the 60% starting %
- There is some talk on the msg boards that Onose has picked up an injury. Nothing concrete and I will post on Discord if I see an update on this.
Odds
Prediction
Both teams have been inconsistent this season. They have both impressed me when they are in the mood, especially Shonan. I see this game being an entertaining draw
FC Tokyo 2- 2 Shonan Bellmare
Nagoya Gramus vs Urawa Reds
Notes
- According to info ive read, Junker is eligible play this game at home vs his parent club
- Izumi is in training but unlikely to play this game
Notes
- Kante came off the bench in the goalless draw midweek. He will be pushing for a start but from the bench is most likely
- Team have been relatively consistent with the starting lineup and I see that continuing here
Odds
Prediction
Both teams have been solid though struggled to score. I see a stalemate in this game.
Nagoya Grampus 0 - 0 Urawa
Gamba Osaka vs Frontale
Notes
- Yuki Yamamoto went off with an injury midweek and is unlikely for this game.
- Higashiguchi started in the league cup game and is my slight fav for this game
- Usami remains doubtful for this game, I see him playing from the bench
- Jebali is more likely to start upfront
- Kyon Kyung is also back and after playing midweek, I see him starting this game.
Notes
- Damiao and Kurumaya are in the running to start.
- Wakizaka played midweek and wasnt convincing. Indication are Seko and Tono are more likely to start
- With Marcinho out, I see Miyashiro playing on the wing/shadow attacker
Odds
Prediction
Frontale have been very disjoined so far this season. I saw enough in attack last game to think they will be too strong for Gamba
Gamba Osaka 1 - 2 Frontale
Fukuoka vs Kyoto
Notes
- Miya not seen in training and is likely out with an undisclosed injury
Notes
- Takeda is a risk for this game
Odds
Prediction
Fukuoka have won all their home games this season and I have them winning a low scoring game.
Fukuoka 1 - 0 Kyoto
Kashiwa vs Kashima Antlers
Notes
- Hosoya to return to the starting lineup after starting from the bench after u21 duty
- Tatsuta returned to the starting lineup midweek but I have it more likely he starts from the bench
Notes
- Pituca returns from suspension
- Araki scored and impressed in the midweek game. He is with a chance to start
Odds
Prediction
Kashiwa have been poor this season and havent won in 14 games. This could well be the managers last game if they do lose.
Kashiwa 1 - 3 Kashima
Finish
I hope found this useful!
As always these are just my own views on the situation based on research for each team. As the majority of games are on Sunday, press conference and training info is being released later than normal and sometimes will be after the deadline.
I will be updating the Discord Channel with any info I see that could prove useful all the way to deadline, so keep a look out for that
If you have any feedback or queries, just give me a shout on Discord
Good luck!
