They redid opiate, it sounds more like their current stuff. You should check it out.

The raw power of Tool is astounding. If your research hasn't told you by now, A Perfect Circle is a side project of Maynard. Billy Howerdel was a guitar tech for Tool in their earlier years and was the creative force behind APC initially. The evolution of APC is pretty interesting too. Maynard also has another side project called Puscifer and it is pretty eclectic. Just another creative outlet for him since the other members of Tool are pretty meticulous with their music-making and take a long time to get their new music where they want it.
