The first video in my 5- Day 50K Rewatch Celebration Series 🥳🥳🥳

I KNOW Y’ALL AREN’T READY FOR THIS ONE! One of the best shows of all time, imho

I absolutely cannot wait to discuss this episode, and the Avatar world as a whole, in the comments below! 💖

(Please keep in mind when watching these 50k celebration videos- I filmed these with the intention of releasing them publicly, in succession. I may say things in the video that don’t make sense at the moment. IE: at 0:20 I talk about a video that I put out “yesterday”, but that video doesn’t exist yet because we haven’t actually hit 50k yet lol. Also at the end of each video I say “See you tomorrow”, but please keep in mind your early release schedule will be once a week here on Patreon.)

ALYCIA, OMG THIS WAS THE BEST SURPRISE!!!!😭🎉🌟 I can’t even tell you how much fun this wassss, my face literally hurts from smiling so much!!✨✨ Just seeing you lit up this whole episode warmed my heart, Its so cool even just to watch one episode on here, I always wondered your favourite parts when watching through on my own! Before I get into this I have to say something, THANK YOU SO MUCH for introducing me to this show my friend! I love it so much now it’s ridiculous!!! It’s had such a lasting impact on me since watching, I constantly find myself making reference to it in my day to day or just getting caught up thinking about all the different characters and plot points! Like you were saying the way they balance that lightheartedness without shying away from the harsh reality of people’s situations, it makes for SUCH a beautiful contrast. They treat every single character like an actual human being with nuances and their own desires and goals, instead of using them nonchalantly as tools to create the best conflict for a story! They can be surprising, make their own decisions and it really feels like they all have had a full life before this show even started! The overall messages of this show too are second to none, and I think there are so many people in this world that could genuinely benefit from such messages, even just watching a show like this really!

Jordan

I couldn’t agree more with what you said about the escapism this show provides, they do such an incredible job of fleshing out this world! Every place these characters end up in feels so rich with its history and lore, and with every new area on this journey comes a super valuable lesson for a character to learn and grow! But it’s not so in-your-face it feels like the characters are just cogs in a “character growth machine”, it feels more like life. There’s darkness and light everywhere and deciding which side you’d rather contribute to is so important, but not always so cut and dry, it can be messy and sometimes it takes a while to break out of a mould someone already made for you. HOW HAVE I NOT MENTIONED APPA YET WTH, tbf I haven’t even talked about the episode we just watched yet, you’ve just unlocked so many feeling I have about this show😂 I love the detail they put into Appa, his noises and reactions just destroy my heart😭 I loved when he made it out the cave and just lay on his back with his big tongue out🥺 such an angel, I NEED a life size plush! What a fantastic choice of episode too by the way! This one just encompasses almost everything that is great about this show, the hilarity of Sokka just trying to stay on course with the mission, of course the beautiful blossoming romance😭 and as for where I stand, KATANG ALL THE WAY!!! I get why you could ship Katara and Zuko, they’re cute sure, but Katara and Aang are just perfect for each other! I don’t make the rules😂

Jordan

I too could never pick a favourite out of these bunch, every character is just perfect and transcended any preconceived notions I may have had about them early on! I gotta say someone that really surprised me in book 3 was Azula! I did not expect to feel much for that character by the end, but her breakdown when she’s finally been defeated by Katara in that last episode was POWERFUL! Like I’m tearing up now just thinking about it, because as horrible as she was throughout, there was a soul deep down inside her and we saw glimpses! She was just so broken. I didn’t imagine Zuko ever changing his ways to begin with, but he had the kindest person ever to show him the way out of that hole, makes me wonder if things could have been different for Azula if she has someone like that:c Once again thank you for absolutely making my day mate, and lastly I would be SO DOWN by the way for a partially blind reaction to the whole thing, here’s to hoping omgg🎉🎉

If i haven’t seen the last airbender would watching this episode only be considered a spoiler. Its definitely on my list of most watch series.

Oh no, you done teased us and now you have to follow through 😂 I have already seen The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra but would DEFINITELY wanna see it again with your reactions. Just because you've seen it once and it wouldn't be "blind" doesn't mean the reaction would be any less entertaining. As you showed in this episode, you can still have a good reaction to something you've already seen. I really hope you can do both Avatar and Legend of Korra, but if you can't, for sure the live action might be something to react to.

Guess I'm gonna watch Avatar for the first time ever today ^^ The animation style never appealed to me when it came out and sometimes I can be a bit of a contrarian so when a lot of people talk about something I can get this irrational feeling that makes me want to check things out even less 😁 Thankfully with age this has stopped almost entirely and since I know myself better and others who suggest stuff to me know me better so these days when someone actually suggests something to me there's usually a good reason for it. So who knows maybe this episode will convince me to actually watch the show hehe either way I'm sure I'm gonna at least enjoy this episode in your company, take my hand and let's go. 😋

So this was pretty fun and funny! I remember now what initially put me off of the show...when it comes to anime and manga I'm VERY particular about the art style and what the characters look like, and to me the main character, or is he the main character? I don't know the bald kid that I remember from all the posters and artwork, anyways the way he's drawn gives me weird uncanny valley vibes the facial features and the way his face moves unsettles me he looks like a gigantic 2 year old. That being said the art style of the world and everything was stunning! This episode didn't really totally suck me in but I imagine this is a show you have to watch in order to really know what's going on and to appreciate all the relationships between the characters and stuff so I could see myself binging it one of these days when I'm in a particular mood. And as someone who's gotten into manga and anime later in life I think nowadays I could appreciate this show way more than if I had actually watched it when it came out. I have a belief that every show or movie or song has a perfect time in your life to experience it and while you may still enjoy it if you watched or heard it too early or too late I think the is a magic point for every piece of art where your life experiences best match up to be receptive to that particular piece of art and I might just be in the perfect time in my life to watch THIS show. Personally my favorite character having only seen this episode was the old guy who just roamed around the forest gambling his life and health away on random plants lol. I was a little sad that he went along with the other guy stealing that mount but since I know nothing about anything in this show maybe that just makes sense if you've watched up to this point. Jesus Christ, that zany stoner hippie guy. 🤦‍♀️ With his full on "Dave's not here maaan" vibes hehe. I do enjoy people who are weird and wacky just fully themselves both in shows and in real life....HOWEVER, I wouldn't want to be in a life or death situation with that guy lol I would have gone insane. In let's call it peace times I'd enjoy his laissez-faire attitude but when shit goes down I ain't got time for that nonsense. 😁 Watching him actually made me very vividly recall a memory. Like 20 years ago I briefly lost my license for following another car too closely so a friend of mine drove me in my car to traffic school. Back then my clutch was pretty much on the verge of completely giving out so it was kind of tricky to drive when you're not used to it and my friend wasn't. We were just coming off of the Autobahn and the first intersection outside of town is huge there's like 12+ lanes coming from all directions and people are going like 80mph. The light turns green and he stalls the car...there's people honking, cars going by 80 miles an hour in other lanes and he can't get the car started again so I get out to push the car to make it start again, as I stand there in the middle of traffic with enraged people all around me and the air of the cars zooming by buffeting me around every which way and the car didn't move and I was like wtf. So I walk up to the driver side and his cellphone had started ringing so he answered it super chill like we ain't got shit going on with his foot on the brake. 🤣 God damn...he was a nice guy to hang out with but absolutely abysmal priorities and decision-making in a crisis...and that's exactly how I felt about that singing guy in Avatar. 🤣

Hi David! Sorry for the late reply. I would say if you have intentions on watching ATLA, just hold off on watching this reaction. I think it would be more rewarding for you to come back to it later, and would keep anything from being spoiled for you- especially since this episode is from season 2!

alyciadweeb

Hahahaha! Listen, if the majority of you all and my YouTube subscribers would be down for a rewatch, I would ABSOLUTELY do it. An excuse to watch ATLA again? Say no more! :D

alyciadweeb

Regardless, I fully intend on reacting to the Live Action show on the channel. It would be my first non- animation reaction but... how can I not!? Lol

alyciadweeb

Lol I can understand that! Well then I'm going to go against the grain here and use a little reverse psychology... Absolutely do not watch this show! Trash! 0/10! 1 Star! ...... (did it work? 😂)

alyciadweeb

Okay can I just say I absolutely LOVED hearing your opinions on this episode given that you don't know the show!? That was so amusing to read, so thank you for that 🤣 The old guy is Uncle Iroh and he's basically everyone's favorite character hahaha! And I never really thought about him not stopping Zuko from stealing the... emu?...looking...creature? Lol I've been thinking about it and I think Iroh really lets his nephew learn his own lessons on this show. He always leads by example and never tries to proselytize Zuko onto a better path because he knows that type of persuasion would never work with him. But anyways THANK YOU for this review because it was so fun hearing the thoughts of a first-timer!

alyciadweeb

Jordaaan! I couldn’t help but think of you specifically when I posted this video! I knew you would be so excited :D I’m genuinely so glad the show had such a lasting impact on you because it absolutely did the same for me too. UGH APPA IS THE SWEETEST JELLYBEAN EVER. I just love him. I think the sounds both him and Momo make are so suited for their characters. The deep, belly grumbles from Appa and the little trills from Momo 🥺 DAMMIT I JUST LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH lol! I’m really glad you enjoyed the episode choice as well! It was difficult picking just one, but I love this particular episode so much I figured if my reaction was strong that was the most important thing given the content and context. ALSO YAAAS TEAM KATAANG WE DO NOT MAKE THE RULES NOSIR BUT WE WILL ABIDE BY THEM 🤣 We have to have a whole discussion about Azula sometime because her character is so nuanced it’s insane. I genuinely don’t know if she would have come around. Some of the flashbacks of her as a kid made me question whether she had an empathetic bone in her body. She had such narcissistic tendencies from day 1. But there is a huge question of nature VS nurture with her as well. AGAIN I JUST LOVE THIS SHOW lol Honestly re-watching Avatar on the channel would be the highlight of my reactor career. If I thought enough subscribers would be down for it, I would do it. Maybe something to consider not for this poll, but the next? Hmm….. You got me out here wanting to do it now 🤣

Just finished watching this episode, lmao, definitely my favorite so far. And it made it so much better watching alongside your reaction. The nomads and sokka where so funny. And I love the nomads vibes definitely my kind of people, so carefree. I think so far my favorite pair would be uncle iroh and zuko. I can relate to zuko alot but I think I choose to be more like uncle iroh in the end. I really hope they turn to the good side and help Aang.
