I find it interesting to see how much of an influence Eda has apparently had on Lilith through the years. It's been well established that Eda is a big time cheater, someone who plays dirty and has very few qualms when it comes to the whole winning by any means necessary thing. Lilith has usually been presented as much more of a straight-and-narrow / law-and-order sort ... although we've also seen that when it comes down to the wire Lilith will also fight dirty to get what she wants. I'm reminded of Lilith's first appearance at the Covention -- both Lilly's telling Eda "I only cheated because I knew you would cheat first!" (which was quite true, as Eda was cheating well before Lilly did) and Eda's delighted, "Welcome down to my level!" reply. Seeing Lilly under the gun, out of time, and with the Emperor literally watching over her shoulder as the minutes until twilight tick down, well ... while playing dirty and cheating may be Eda's happy-go-lucky first order of business and Lilly's grim last choice -- when Lilly ditches good sportsmanship and plays dirty, she's clearly learned from the best ... and even out Eda's Eda when it comes to nasty tricks!

Last Week: These episode titles are so fun! This week’s episode: Agony of a Witch Speaking of episode titles, idk if anyone else has mentioned this, but the first letter of each episode title spells out a secret message: A lying witch and a warden Witches before wizards I was a teenage abomination Trespasser Covention Hooty’s moving hassle Lost in language Once upon a swap Something ventured, someone framed Escape of the palisman Sense and insensitivity Adventures in the elements The first day Really small problems Understanding willow Enchanting grom fright Wing it like witches Agony of a witch Also, each episode has a coded word hidden somewhere, which spells out a different message, but those are a lot harder to find and they need a cipher.

I think you said it best, this episode is crazy. With this episode alone the show goes from fun and cute wacky antics to like tense high-stakes betrayal fight for your life kinda stuff. I feel like the change in Liliths behavior compared to past episodes alone can give you whiplash. 😆 Like a week ago she had a grudgeby match with Eda in like a playful way now she kidnaps Luz and risks her life to bring Eda in. Man the goodbye speech gets me every time, I must have seen this episode like 5 times by now and every time I get choked up and at least teary-eyed. To be honest I couldn't tell you if I really suspected Lilith was the one who cursed her because it's been a while since I first watched it. I THINK I did but not with any conviction or any motive in mind simply from a writing perspective. Not a lot of other characters have been setup in the story so far that really could have been it which kind of made her the default choice. Because unless it was someone that we already know about we're not invested so who cares...or it would require like a 2 season arc to make us care in hindsight. 😏 I know I know this is not a fun way to look at a story but that's just how my brain works, the upside is WHEN I'm surprised by the story I'm REALLY surprised. Also I have two narratives in my head, the analytical one that always does running commentary and the other one that still feels the story deeply and lives and breathes all the emotion and excitement that happens, so for me it doesn't take away anything from the experience. 😌 Arguably it enhances it because the analytical part of me goes through a million different possibilities and scenarios while still being emotionally invested in what's going on in the moment so I'm not just watching what's happening right now I'm also simulating a hundred different episodes in my head at the same time each with their own dialogue and visuals etc. It's a weird thing to put into words but I love it. 😍 If I remember correctly the second half of season 2 just started airing or will start to in a few days and I'm gonna watch those with you, so in about 11 weeks you'll be caught up and we can start to throw around wild theories together. 😆 It's always hard to comment if you've already seen it because I'd have to remember what I actually thought at the time and not give theories with information we haven't been given yet etc. So yeah can't wait to watch the second half blind with you! 🤗

I did suspect Lilith but I also suspected like eda and Lilith’s parents??? But Lilith cursed her and the her reasoning is very questionable but also she was young so like idk....... no spoilers but she didn’t think the curse would last eda’s whole life🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I never try to predict shows, i enjoy them while watching and want to be able to be suprised. That said, i wasn`t suprised Lilith cursed her, she was an obvios choice. I still like Lilith as a character, she is flawed but i like flawed characters.

WOW👏🤩 This episode was on another LEVEL!!!🌟 I mean you absolutely hit the nail on the head in your review, this one just had it all! Amazing pacing, a great balance of seriousness and humour, a stunning, goosebumps inducing action sequence, but when you really boil it down just a super emotionally driven story of two siblings, with a plot twist that would surely even hit Bill Cypher in the feels…. I think it’d just be plain rude not to put this episode at the very top of my favourites list immediately😂 Beautifully done! Yeah this was something special, I’m beyond excited to see how this gets wrapped up next week! I think what this episode did exceptionally well though is showing what amazing potential this story has going forward into season 2 and further. For starters there’s clearly some real messed up goings on the deeper we get into the inner workings of the covens, if that emperor belos guy and his big creepy heart is anything to go off we’ve barely scratched the surface currently lol. It also makes me wonder what will happen now with Lilith, she seemed to be on her last chance when it came to bringing in Eda. Despite not knowing exactly what’s gonna happen to Eda in the coming finale it seems likely that Lilith will once again be returning to the emperor empty handed, so is she going to be stripped of her rank and banished from her coven? That could lead to a very interesting turn around for the two sisters, if reconciliation is even on the table anymore. I mean Eda was MAD at her sister from the looks of it and unleashed power in herself that we had only previously seen glimpses of, so yeah realistically it’s gonna take some time for Eda to come to terms with that situation. It’s like you said though it’s such a horrible betrayal from someone so close it almost makes no sense without the proper context, but I’m sure she had her reasons or was maybe so young she didn’t realise the full scope of what she was doing, there’s always two sides to a story and I hope we get to see Lilith’s perspective on everything soon. Some quick fire highlights for me this episode were Gus’ “you are your best self” moment that was such a gem! Both Gus and Willow coming in clutch to help Luz they really are the best friends you could hope for! Realising King had been sitting in the cake that WHOLE TIME waiting for Luz to walk in, like my heart wasn’t crushed enough by that pointtt😭 oh and Hootie’s little tea party with all the rounded up goons as he just pours tea all over the floor that gave me a good laugh🤣 Yeah I could honestly keep going just listing every detail of this episode because it’s truly excellent, but I want you to actually have a chance at reading this so I’ll leave it here. What a journey this has been already and I have no doubt it’ll be brought to a satisfying season conclusion next week so all that’s left to say is thank you mate for another great reaction I had so much fun watching this with you!✨

OMG...this episode was crayz-mazing! The intensity went from 0 to 80 in a matter of minutes. Eda letting loose and showing what a powerhouse she truly is was a sight to see. I kind of had a passing thought that her sister could be the source of the curse because she seems to be an eternal thorn in Eda's side; but I never dwelled on how she got it. That being said, it was still pretty impactful the way she let it slip out. I can't help but feel that this is one of those situations where Lilith tries to redeem herself to save Eda. She seemed a bit conflicted about the curse. I wonder if she knew the only way to break the curse was to have Eda join the coven, but she didn't want to admit what she had done. On a lighter note, this was probably my favorite Hooty episode so far. That boy is four 8s short of a full deck and I am completely here for it! Lol

LOL whiplash is the perfect word to describe how I felt by Lilith's character! And you and Mark made really similar points about her being the character that made the most sense to curse Eda from a storywriting- perspective; I never really thought about it that way so good on you guys! "That being said, it was still pretty impactful the way she let it slip out." THIS. Okay, deep down I think I suspected Lilith too but I think it was the *way* we found out that was so shocking. I was so immersed in the fight sequence between them, I was completely unprepared for us to hear that in that moment. I thought for sure the curse-culprit would be revealed during one of Eda's dreamy flashbacks so to get that reveal in such a quick and unexpected way got me GOOD.
