Hey everyone!

As promised in yesterday's post, I'm happy to announce that the Anki 2.1 port of External Note Editor for the Browser is now finally ready for testing! Everyone at the add-on aficionado tier or higher, feel free to head over to the >download post< to give it a go!

For those of  your unfamiliar with this add-on (since it's been a while since I published it for Anki 2.0):

External Note Editor allows you to edit your cards in a separate window when you're browsing through them in the card browser. This makes it easy to copy over information from one note to another, and to edit larger notes more comfortably (for additional usage examples, make sure to check out my original video!).

This new release introduces Anki 2.1 support, adds a configurable hotkey, and fixes a number of smaller issues that were present in the 2.0 version. Under the hood it has also been updated with cleaner code supporting all the latest and greatest changes to Anki – which should make it very future-proof.

Just like with the last Visual Feedback & Puppy Reinforcement betas, this version of External Note Editor will remain a Patreon exclusive for a small bit (how long depends on the number of things to fix) and then be published to AnkiWeb.

The external editor has quickly become a core part of my Anki workflow, and so I'm super happy to finally be able to share it with all of you guys!

Happy editing, and as always good luck with your studies!

– Aristotelis (Glutanimate)

P.S.: Next up in this series of Anki 2.1 ports will be Ctrl+F Search and Find and Replace in the Note Editor. Make sure to stay tuned for more info soon!
