Hey guys,

I'm happy to announce that a new update for the BetterTags Anki add-on is now available. 

v0.1.3 comes with a number of smaller bug fixes and improvements, especially in regards to special character support in tags (e.g. accented languages, etc.). As always please do let me know if you run into any issues whatsoever.

Changelog:

  • fixed handling of special characters on Anki 2.0
  • other smaller fixes and improvements

For installation instructions and a quick tutorial on the add-on please see this video.

Important: I have updated the packaging format for Anki 2.1 to make things easier for you. You no longer need to rename anything when installing a 2.1 release. Just unzip it, and move the bettertags folder containing all of the .py files into your addons21 directory.

This add-on is a wonderful addition. I have run into one issue so far with the filtered decks creation feature. I can not create filtered decks from browser screen if the tag is formatted as follows: #Abcd::efgh::(01)-ijk_(+)_lmn::1.1-op ... I get around this by adding my own " " around the tag after the filtered deck dialogue is generated by BetterTags from the browser.

Hey DSC! Glad you like BetterTags! Thanks for letting me know about that issue. I will update the add-on to automatically enclose tags with double-quotes and push a new release over the next few days. Cheers!
