Cool! Your Conan-y stuff is awesome

gotta say, the sword-and-sorcery style stuff is far and away my favorite setting i've seen you do. the snake in this one is especially great!

Thank you Sammy ♥ I just have so much fun doing it, it's like comfort food for me.

Thank you eldabys! ♥ I really enjoy them too, the subject matter is just a treat and I feel like it fits well with the warm palettes I'm into lately too

Ok wow that's fantastic! I would so buy an artbook of your fantasy stuff, it works so well! As often, really like how you use shadows!

Matt Bixler! Hello!

God, I LOVE seeing the under-explored parts of Conan stuff.

GodDAMN, Wint, you really knocked it out of the park with this one! The loose, exploratory lines along the snake's body that flow into it's mouth are really striking. The heavy shadow shapes create a lovely rhythm, and the overall piece reads so wonderfully. Top tier work man!

♥ Matt!! I just finished like 3 Conan audiobook compilations there are so many exciting little corners of that universe. UGH I am overwhelmed

✨Thank youuuuu! This was one of those things that just started as a little sketch and then I kept on feeling compelled to add to it over and over until I ended up here 🤷‍♂️

I want to streamline a process of making little books that aren't necessarily comics but just zines with a bunch of drawings on a theme. I think that would be a fun way to add variety to my comic making process and make good use of the printer. I gotta buy some bigger size paper though, that's the next thing I gotta do!

Matt Bixler! Hello!

OH OH! Look up "Robert E Howard's Conan the Cimmerian Barbarian: The Complete Weird Tales Omnibus." It's an audiobook of all of the Conan shorts from Weird Tales, plus a few Solomon Kaines, PLUS the History of the Hyborean Age which was basically Howard's Simarillion. It's all narrated by Finn J. D. John, who was a friend and contemporary of Howard's. Every story has a pre-amble giving historical context to when it was released and what Howard was going through at the time. It ends up being pretty breathlessly flattering in a way that can be a little eye-rolley but it's absolutely FASCINATING as a piece of study. It's what finally got me whole-hog into Conan stories in general.

I wonder how many overlaps there are in terms of what I've read vs. what's in the omnibus. I know I haven't gotten into any of the History of the Hyborean Age, so I'm definitely going to check that out. There's a good bit of biographical context in the compilations I just finished but I won't mind more, even if it's a little too flattering haha. I eat that stuff up. I'm working my way through some of the Howard horror stories right now so I'm excited to have something else to add to my list! Thanks for the recommendation!!

This would make an awesome figurine! The pose is so elaborate it's really satisfying.
