01/31: I'm going to do a post talking more about the process for the coloring on this because it's been interesting and challenging in unexpected ways for me, but for now I just wanted to do one last post in January of my WIP cover sketch. Y'all know I can't resist a phallic plant opportunity ohohoho

01/17/21: Every comic I work on has challenges but this one is pretty complex, lots of colors, original characters I'm not super used to drawing...I'm working through it. I try to not make too many rules for myself on how I have to work so I'm going to try to show some of the honest process on these pages.

These pages 13-16 I'm sharing are all examples of moments I've just stumbled with a drawing and it's not quite right and I might just have to start adding bigger ink fills or color before I know to fix it. So for now you may enjoy some unfinished nonsense. :)

01/03/21: I just added the roughs for the last 6 pages, plus a new page in between 1-2 that I think I'd like to add in. :) Sloppy as ever!

12/05/20: Rough pages 1-9! Something about drawing in the woods just makes Poppy's mind start to wonder.  I'm thinking I may add a page between 1-2 just to add a bit more anticipation. Also I'm trying to  adapt the rhythm of Little Bird's Bath with every other page being a big spread, since I liked that, it worked and provided some rigid structure for me to  work within.

In a way this is the most exciting and least gratifying step. I feel like it's starting to take shape but I know that it still basically looks like garbage, hah! Clean lines are coming soon! <3

11/30/20: So it begins, thumbnails for 14 pages of Poppy and Oak playing around. Some character designs, and a handful of pared down references. I find that if I have too many references in front of me all the time it's actually detrimental so I try to keep it to just a handful. Here's the math:

70s Smokey The Bear + Pre Raphaelite Dryads + Eyvind Earle Landscapes + WPA State Park Posters = Lewd.
