Spent most of today painting the beak of the Gryph blank. Had a blast, I really love painting. She was airbrushed with my new Tamiya paints, with some hand detailing. The Tamiya paints are super opaque, which is fantastic. They do dry VERY fast though, and I frequently had to take apart my airbrush to scrub it out.

I started off by painting the entire beak in an 'army blue' colour, some of which can still be seen on the head. Kind of a steel blue. This undercoat helped a huge amount, since it really helped keep a blue tone to the colours placed on top.

I built up the gradient with many layers, and had to redo it a number of times due to stuffing up haha. I scratched the beak up with sandpaper and various tools to add some weathering.

Not sure if I will work on it more (probably will) but very happy with the first pass
