Was surprised to finish these today. I had a lot of wait time testing glues for Crash's brow hair, so reached for the next thing I could work on.

I'm honestly really thrilled with how these came out. The pics don't really do them justice, the light reflects off them a lot in photos. IRL they look great!

I've started using golden fluid acrylics for airbrushing and manual painting. I'm really blown away with their performance. Such a nice fluidity, they spray and brush on so nicely. I'll probably use them as standard for most things now, but I just wish they weren't so expensive... ($25-50 for a 118ml.. pretty small.. bottle depending on color).

I had airbrushed these gloves yesterday with a flat brown. It didn't really have the coverage I wanted (they need to be diluted to airbrush) so I used a foam brush to dab a flat brown all over. This was really opaque and covered up everything I wanted it to, giving a good base to start.

I did a whole bunch of layers of browns, using the sponge brush to dab it on in a random splotchy pattern. Made sure to wipe/dab each new layer with tissue paper so that it wasn't too opaque. I wanted lots of colors to show through and not completely cover what was underneath.

Did a few layers of darker browns, and a couple of lighter ones. Finished by hand painting dark brown in the glove 'seams' and airbrushed lightly with the same color in the seams to blend it out a bit more, and did some contouring on the gloves.

Really thrilled with how these look IRL, I hope the pics look ok. I'll be giving them a protective clear coat tomorrow and attaching them to his hands. Very exciting.. I'm hoping to continue this momentum through the week to get him done asap.

I think they look pretty sweet in the shots, so no worries there. A really effective used-leather effect.!
