A hairy situation (Patreon)
Content
After a lot of testing, I finally got the eyebrows all glued up. A very messy and sticky scenario, but hopefully it works!
The hair here is kanekalon, very realistic, reminds me of horse hair. I spent the morning dividing it into wefts, hot glueing the ends to keep them in place just while I worked on them. Used a hair straightener to smooth them out since this type of hair comes very frizzy.
Built a curved base to lay the glued pieces onto. This wont be used in the final brow but just serves to give them the right size and curve.
I cut each weft to an appropriate length, feathered the edges, and coated liberally in watered down glue. Laid each piece down on the brow form and eventually layered them over each other to cover the whole shape.
Hoping this dries nicely and can be handled tomorrow. I'm planning on reinforcing the back with a stronger glue so that it is sturdier (has some sort of rigid backing) but leaves the front looking nice like this. As far as looks are concerned they are exactly how I want them, just need to make sure they are functional.
