My plan for the nose was to 3d print a lightweight base and then cover it with a thin layer of black apoxie clay for the final touch. I had a plan for creating the texture, but it came out even better than I was expecting.

Instead of sculpting each individual nub on the nose, I decided to sculpt a small 'stamp', that I could press all over and recreate that random textured look. Crash's nose has lots of bumps all over it, without being super defined like a real animal. Tbh it looks a lot like an avocado texture or something similar haha.

I covered a small area with balls of clay in various sizes, then smoothed it out by brushing in alternate directions with different course sponge. This really blended it all together and made it look less like individual balls of clay.

I made a small mold wall out of tongue depressors (like thick paddlepop sticks) and poured some fast setting silicone over the top. This gave me a great, hand size stamp. I  covered the nose in the soft apoxie clay and went to town, pressing the stamp all over. It worked SO well, exactly the texture I was after. And I only had to sculpt a tiny section rather than manually detail the whole nose. I can also keep the stamp for future use!
