Patterning spikes (Patreon)

Patterned and scaled all of his spikes today. After that I tried to test a bunch of them in the faux suede I was planning on using. It was extremely frustrating, the suede would not turn, especially on the sharp points of the spines. I definitely am not going to be able to use it which is a let down. Maybe if the spikes were at a larger scale it would be ok. 

Thinking I may have to use printed minky and just airbrush over the seams/dark areas to touch them up. I need to use a printed fabric, but it's a shame the suede was a fail :/. I've started digitising the images for the spikes and will make a decision once they are done.
