I was thinking similarly, but looking back, we got some other outfits (if teeny bras and unbuttoned pants count as "outfits" 😅) in the previous flashback, so this flashback is showing a "before" for her iconic outfit

Something is just working incredibly well in the specific choices around this scenario. The cast is very limited, and each character has a completely different role and appearance, so they really pop. This is unlike NLB which was about a group of friends. That’s fine of course but it‘s harder to meaningfully differentiate each character, it feels more sprawling whereas this is focused to a sharp point. Cindy’s design is definitely a “gal” archetype but somehow she feels more distinctive. The side ponytail and outfit just feel instantly iconic. Even Connor’s simple design is perfectly effective. Also the scenario is really specific and localized and has tremendous tension around Connor’s straightforward drive to hook up with Cindy. Finally, on a kink entertainment level, this is the first one where the character embodying the kink is not the protagonist. So there’s a sense of curiosity about her from the outside. I think Cindy’s appeal gets enhanced by seeing how other characters react to her — mostly Connor of course, but even in the flashbacks it seems that Cindy is someone other people are always noticing and reacting to. Giving Cindy the spotlight this way adds more to the tension. It’s just a very nice little engine of suspense and carefully planned payoff.
