Welcome back to Season 2 of our 'Design Diary' series!

In late 2022 Kay conceived the idea for a blanket that would go on to become one of our most popular series ever. That was of course 2023's 'My Favourite Blanket' series. In this episode of 'Design Diary' join Kay as she looks back to her initial designs and talks you through the development of the 'My Favourite Blanket' pattern. She also takes a rather interesting tangent along the line of dishcloths!

Join Kay as she:

  • Shares with you the story behind ‘My Favourite Blanket’
  • Talks through the yarns that were used
  • Shows you her original designs for the blanket and talks through the process of how this came about
  • Discusses the edging of the blanket and how this was such an important part of the design
  • Talks through her inspiration for the shape of the blanket
  • Discusses how she trailed the blanket shape prior to the series beginning
  • Shows you the blankets prototype
  • Mentions the special edition of the pattern which will be available to ALL patrons from 19th-31st January 2024

It was interesting finding out how the blanket design evolved. It would be a shame not to complete the prototype but I can understand why you don’t want to return to it. Another possibility would be to sell the almost completed project complete with the extra yarn to finish it to a pateron,

This was such a fun knit last year, so thank you Kay. I am using my Favourite blanket a lot, it is so cozy and warm.
