I’m surprised to hear that WWII is not so readily taught in the UK, especially since you lived through it more closely than us Americans. I feel we were fairly entrenched in WWII history throughout our public schooling. I studied in France for a year in undergrad (university) and we were taken to the memorial in Normandy on a field trip. And still today so many tv shows are done on it. We definitely don’t forget. Not about WWII, specifically.
