I think the first season had a rough start due to setting up the premise and initial schemas of the characters with skits and then the back third of the 1st season starts to delve deep.

One of my favorite details of the opening is during the part where Kaguya is cutting the rolled omelette the lighting shifts during each part of the process. Which tells you each part took a considerable amount of time, she cut the omelette, took time to brace herself and contemplate, then made it a heart, and then likely stared at it for a while building up the nerve to actually put it in the bento. It's very true to how Kaguya would act if that was taking place during an episode.

You can try to make a cake yourself. Simple ones are easy to make at home and you don't really need a reason to eat a good dessert just because you like it. Rather, you probably only need self-control instead :D

Its okay to do things you enjoy without any justification whatsoever IMO. Our culture puts way too much emphasis on leisure time having to be earned or in service of being able to work harder later or somesuch.
