LOVE IS WHAAAAAAAAAAT?!

Rat#394

There is no such thing as birthday week. A day is not a week. But you can do a birthweek. Ha, pulled an "actually" on you. Noone likes me xD.

Mofucka took the rat in his name and went with it 😂 it’s too early for this shut ya ass up 💖💖 haha

I'm so happy this is back, Arasaka Aka is the 🐐 of a mangaka and wrote both Love I'd War & Oshi no ko. They can work with comedy and drama so well it's scary

Ivan

Yeah, tbh its common with me to have birthday week. I spread people all over the week and go on lunches and hang out, also day with family.

I need to become rich so I can redeem the rest of Symphogear.

it will ALWAYS be insane to me how Aka wrote both this and Oshi no Ko. He put his WHOLE comedussy into this and his whole Angstussy into OnK.

also i highly recommend you check out the Kaguya dub at some point on you own time. even just scattered clips on YT. It's somehow even funnier than the original and the dub VA for the Narrator is INSANE.

THE GOATEST ROMCOM OF ALL TIME HAS RETURNED LETS GO

I'm glad that you're doing Season 2. Kaguya is easily on my top 5 or top 3 shows of all time. Not only is the original Manga fantastic, the anime adaptation is a rare case of meaningfully adding to what the source material provides in terms of visual and musical additions. This season, even more so than season 1, is full of references too. The scene with Hayasaka and the burning cord was a mission impossible reference. I have one thing to add that bothers me about the translation this epsiode. When Nagisa describes her bf's personality as "obedient", I don't like that translation. The word she uses is 素直 'sunao'. I would have preferred someting like "frank" maybe. "obedient" isn't fully incorrect as a translation but in the context, it just sounds too strong imo. Makes it sound like she forced him to change and he obeyed her. But that's not the nuance the original conveys. Just a nit pick ramble. Maybe I'll have more of these to add in the furture.

God Alicia talking about spending her birthday crying alone instead of celebrating is like looking into a dark mirror. Why'd you have to call me out like that?

I'd even say that the dub adds to it as well by being a fun adaptation of the script and its narrator just being an entirely different and just as good character

Yves Bruckmayer

It's cool to me that people enjoy the dub. I personally disagree with the choices made in the dub. I prefer the narrator being serious because I interpret it as a reflection of how serious it is for the characters. For us the audience it's obviously exaggerated and silly, but to these bunch of 17 y.o. it's the most serious thing ever. Of course it would be. The english version to me loses that competely by the narrator acknowedging how silly it is. I think that's for us to notice but not for the narrator to point out. That's just how I feel though. If you like the dub, then all the power to you!

One of my favorite things about this series is the “fake” soundtrack. Just in this episode alone you have fake versions of Madonna’s “Vogue” and the Mission: Impossible theme.

All three openings for this show are just fantastic. Suzuki Masayuki knocks it out of the park.

Let's go I love this show!!!!!

Shadowsofpain

I think the only way to make that funny in English would have been to parody planet earth since dry English wit describing silly high school shenanigans would've hit just the right spot. But I enjoy the more silly dub narrator since I think it helps the English jokes land better, it's adaption not emulation at the end of the day. Also thank you and likewise power to you, I love the sub a lot as well btw.
