Yeah so you did a slight misread when it comes to Kuro's glasses. It had nothing to do with the glasses themselves, he just does the push-up thing out of habit whenever he wants to scratch his face since usually he's got sharp cat claws on so he doesn't accidentally cut his own face open. Django was talking about how he still has the habit after 3 years, meaning he hasn't forgotten how to fight

I don't know why it subtitled that but Kuro's attack is "Out of the Bag" not "Out of the Back" as in the cat is out of the bag. anyways you're awesome and rewatching One Piece through your reactions is a ton of fun.

I dunno, but I do know this. Kaya is another name for the Japanese Nutmeg-yew, a slow growing tree native to Japan and South Korea. Kaya also means "rich" in Malay and Indonesian, with it also being used for their word for coconut jam for that very reason. You know that Zoro used an attack called "Tiger Trap", right? Well the Japanese name for this attack is "Tora Gari", this is a pun because Tora Gari is a type of Mohican haircut. Episode 15 Kuro's attack, the pussyfoot maneuver is called "Nuki Ashi" in Japanese, meaning "Stealth foot". The 4kids dub actually translated the name more closely by calling it "Stealth Walk". That said, "The Pussyfoot maneuver" is way more fun and thematic as a name. Hey, did that marine in Kuro's flashback look familiar to you? The only one that Kuro left alive so he could take credit for catching fake kuro. Yeah, that's "Ax-hand Morgan", the jerk villain from episode 3 with the metal jaw and ax replacement for his hand. Kuro's responsible for his undeserved position and his injury's. Guess the guy wasn't as great as he thought himself to be eh?

Oh, you have NO idea how bad Zoro's sense of direction is. Zoro will literally be walking up a set of stairs and somehow gets lost. The One Piece community even meme about him getting lost in other animes all the time.

I think the flickers of emotion were more so that he realized he almost messed up his own plan. He's a person who plans a lot and hates when plans go wrong. I think in that moment he realized he almost ruined his own plan which would probably hurt him the most.
