No more walking dead? Can please someone let me know? I’ve subscribed to Patreon for this reactions.

They're spoofing us, of course, that Shakespeare "made up" Romeo & Juliet out of his head-- When everyone knows he was trying to do a "modern" adaptation of the Pyramus & Thisbe legend (as he kidded in Midsummer Night's Dream), with rich Italian families standing in for the Greek kings, poison standing in for the lion, and a balcony standing in for the wall.

Would love you to react to Romeo and Juliet, the 1996 adaptation i think is the best. By the way I did not assume you were 17 like you thought some people do. You don’t look old or anything but because you talk of your wife and kids I assumed you were in your 30s for some reason. You were really lucky to meet your wife early in life x

I know they weren't trying to be historically accurate, although some clever historical references got mixed in. For me, it's the passion behind the creative process and how strong emotions feed it that was at its heart. Yes, Dillon, I found it superbly crafted, too. Side note: you recognized the actor who played Arthur Weasley, but did you notice -Viola's nurse played Umbridge.

The best movie-Shakespeare came from Franco Zefirelli, including the 1969 Romeo & Juliet, along with the 1990 Mel Gibson "Hamlet" and the 1967 Burton & Taylor "Taming of the Shrew". Kenneth Branagh is good too, but only his Henry V and Much Ado About Nothing became classics.

I like this movie well enough, but I think it's a travesty that it won Best Picture over "Saving Private Ryan". The latter is one of the best (if not THE best) war movies of all time and a major classic, the former is basically a rom-com set during the 16th century and kind of forgotten these days. Had Weinstein not campaigned so hard for this film (and kind of maligned Spielberg's film in the process) the oscar would have gone to SPR for sure.
