If you like this film, may I also recommend Hope and Glory directed by John Boorman. Like this movie, it shows the effects of war from a child's perspective. It is also semi autobiographical and coincidentally came out the same year as this movie 1987. . Also, I highly highly recommend JoJo rabbit from 2019. This movie is amazing. That's all I'll say.
