The opening montage remains one of the best things Pixar has ever done... and perhaps sets such a high bar that the rest of the movie can't quite live up to it. The 'talking' dogs thing always felt a bit gimmicky to me, and I found it a bit of a stretch that Charles would still be alive, given Carl's age (they're also both still pretty agile for a couple of extreme geriatrics 🤔). That said, it's still a wonderful flick -- just not quite up there with the first 3 "Toy Story" movies, "The Incredibles," "WALL-E," "Inside Out," or "Coco" for me.
