Rogue Wave Pirate Archvillain: Mellow Yellow (Patreon)

Here's another major enemy to the Rogue Wave Pirates- Mellow Yellow, former patron to Fiddler's Green and Dawn Patrol's old friend, who's angry at the world for harashing his mellow (get it) and is out to make it peaceful by force!

ORIGIN

Ross McKenna was one of the boys in Kyle Hansley's gang. Never having been a strong-willed person, Ross gravitated towards the much more decisive and confident Kyle. Ross became something of a lackey for the other boy, and followed him around wherever he went. So closely tied was Ross's identity to Kyle, that when Kyle left the gang Ross was the only one who left with him. Even after they took their leave from the gang, Ross remained glommed on to Kyle. When Kyle took up surfing as his new outlet for his youthful energy, Ross did so as well just because Kyle was doing it. When Kyle was nearly cornered by police and paddles his surfboard into a storm, Ross went with him even though they nearly lost both of their lives. When they washed up on Fiddler's Green, Ross and Kyle found a paradise of peace and relaxation. To Ross, who had been a follower and avoided conflict all his life, this place felt like the perfect home. Like all who came to the island, the local Eidolon gave Ross superhuman powers, and he gained the ability to control vibrations.

When Kyle became restless and decided to leave Fiddler's Green, Ross went with him because following Kyle was what Ross was used to. This time, however, Ross really didn't want to go. He was much more attached to Fiddler's Green than Kyle was, and if they left they had no sure means to find their way back. Ultimately, however, because Ross had never taken a stand for himself before he didn't know how to start now, and so he kept his reservations to himself and left with Kyle.

Back in the normal world, Kyle began using his powers to save those in danger at sea and Ross, as per usual, did what Kyle was doing. They split shifts, Kyle naming himself "Dawn Patrol" and going out in the morning, while Ross renamed himself "Mellow Yellow" and went out in the evening. As time went on, however, Ross became more and more restless. After having lived on Fiddler's Green, the life of people in the normal world seemed absurd to him. Why did they get up every day to work hard jobs just to go to sleep and do it again the next day? Why were people living lives they couldn't enjoy? What was the purpose of postponing happiness for later if later might never come? He began to become restless, then upset, and then finally angry. He decided that society was at fault for this great injustice and he decided that he would change it by force. For the first time since the boys met, Ross abandoned Kyle and set out to remake the whole world into Fiddler's Green as Mellow Yellow.

Powers/Abilities

• Vibration control: can use vibrations for a number of purposes, including causing earthquakes, generating sonic attacks, and even manipulating the shape of matter to some degree. The applications of this ability are broad, and they are enough to make him single-handedly a threat to the Rogue Wave Pirates.

Mellow Yellow was originally going to be a Toonman villain, but ultimately we decided he worked better as a major enemy to a team of heroes, and that's what allowed us to revamp him into Dawn Patrol's old friend now turned enemy. And just what is Fiddler's Green, and who are the eidolons? Well, that, is a story for another time!
