Rogue Wave Pirate Rogue: King Crab (Patreon)

Hey Guys! We've been stocking piling new character artwork, so we've decided to our patrons get an exclusive first look at some of the new characters before we release them publicly! This is just the first part of a huge patreon artwork bomb coming this month, so get ready!

First up, another enemy for the Rogue Wave Pirates- King Crab, the mechanized pirate hunter!!

ORIGIN

Once, Doctor Alistair Kingston had been a leading scientist in the world of oceanography and marine biology, as well as a family man to both his wife and children and his research team. Amongst his claim to fame was his brilliant ‘crab suit’, a miraculous diving exosuit that protected Alistair from the harsh depths of the deepest oceans, yet allowed him to maneuver and interact with ocean life freely and without harm as if he were on dry land. One tragic day while Alistair had brought his family along on one of his expeditions, his crew and family were attacked by pirates who had gotten wind of his exploration vessel, hoping to plunder the crew for anything profitable. As Alistair had been on a diving expedition at the time, he was the only survivor of the attack, and returned aboard to find both of his family mercilessly killed in a blood bath.

Heartbroken and psychologically damaged beyond belief, Alistair swore a life of vengeance and crusade to end all piracy in the world. The once pacifist scientist began weaponizing his crab suit and began scouring the globe, mercilessly killing all pirates wherever they would attack the innocent. Over the years Alistair, having taken the identity of ‘King Crab,’ had slowly been upgrading and building upon his suit’s arsenal to the point where the suit became capable of going toe-to-toe with more superpowered pirates. And once he got word of the exploits of the Rogue Wave Pirates, Alistair made them his next target, and his suit proved capable of neutralizing all of the crew’s abilities.

Despite having come out victorious against King Crab in their first encounter, the Rogue Wave Pirates have now found themselves an continuous enemy in Alistair, despite their attempts to show Alistair they are fighting on the same side. With every encounter, King Crab’s suit continues to be rebuilt stronger and stronger, and it may be only a matter of time before he single handedly sinks the Devil’s Daughter.

Powers/Abilities

• The King Crab suit is a special underwater exosuit that allows King Crab to maneuver and survive the harshest elements of the ocean as if he were normally on land. It offers superhuman strength, durability, speed, and is weaponized with a deadly arsenal capable of destroying fleets of pirates and nuetralizing superhuman threats.
• Oceanographer and Marine Biologist able to track and find anything within the world’s oceans.
• Has Sworn a blood oath to end all pirates and piracy in the world.

Some of you might recognize this design as one of our old Merauder/Aquatide villains we had back in the day. Well, since it was one of our more popular designs, we decided to naturally keep it as a huge new foe for the RWP. All we needed was a new and updated origin/purpose for the character. And well, we wanted to create a villain who was essentially a pirate hunter to fight and try to kill the team, and King Crab's armor seemed perfect to fill the lore and make him a powerful enemy to the crew!
