Brockbuster Jones Alternate (Patreon)

Hey Guys! We forgot to upload some alternates/bonus renderings of our new characters we've been posting these last few weeks. so we're doing that now.

First up, Brockbuster Jones!

ORIGIN

Brock Jones grew up in the projects with a single mother. Since his father was not present, the most important male figure in his life was his grandfather. Brock’s grandfather was a strict man, and never afraid to employ his belt as a disciplinary tool. This fact did not endear him to Brock, who dreamed of being large enough to fight back against his grandfather’s vicious abuse. However, Brock was not a particularly large or strong child, and so his sense of powerlessness only grew.

Brock loved football, and he joined his high school team, but because he wasn’t particularly large he mostly rode the bench. Towards the end of his junior year, however, Brock hit the mother of all growth spurts. He began not only to shoot upwards, but to pack on massive amounts of muscle. It would prove to be the most important growth spurt in sports history since another formerly not-particularly-tall child had chosen to wear the number 23.

Brock was soon not only off the bench, but being scouted by colleges around the country. He left home to play college ball and went pro a few years after. He became famous for his competitive spirit and his ability to muscle his way through impossible numbers of opponents. Now a household name and a millionaire, he should have been happy, but he wasn’t. He still had a chip on his shoulder from his youth, so he went to pay a visit to his grandfather.

When Brock confronted the man who used to terrorize him, however, he found him a complete mess. Dementia had turned him into a shell of his former self, and he didn’t even know who Brock was. Ultimately, Brock was never able to address his childhood trauma. He began instead to spiral into frustration and anger until his desire for competition became unhealthy, and he became obsessed with the idea of taking on entire teams by himself.

Knowing that he would be busted if he took steroids, Brock instead invested his millions into a procedure being offered on the black market by the Think Tank. It worked too well, and Brock became an unstoppable superhuman with unmatched strength and durability. No longer able to play football for fear of killing the other players, he desired to funnel his competitive spirit into fighting the groups of superhumans who were beginning to appear around the world. Taking on the name Brockbuster Jones, his first battle was against the newly-formed rogue wave pirates. The new crew wasn’t yet skilled at operating as a team, and Brock won the fight. Nonetheless, he ended up joining the crew for the promise of sailing around the world and fighting strong foes. As a member of the rogue wave pirates he sails the seas, looking for ever-greater challenges.

• Strength increases as his desire to win increases
